I mean the Jets don’t have a good system and he looked damn good in those highlights. I’m moreso wondering what his potential could be once Payton works with him and now that he has a significant upgrade in talent in the skill positions and offensive line

I haven't read through the thread to see what everyone thinks are if there's anything I'm missing.
I love Bridgewater but do not really like this trade on the surface. Not a fan of giving a 3rd round pick up for a backup QB.
Bridgewater is 25 and still has solid upside, but I believe he's on a 1 year deal, right? So even if Brees were to hang em up after this season, we may have essentially given up a 3rd rounder for a guy who plays 1 year for us without making a single start?
If I knew with good certainty that Bridgewater would be around after this season, it would be different.

Teddy here's starter money for the Saints under Payton with this O line and weapons...
Or you can go play qb for the dolphins.

Yeah he's gotta be able to see that. Much better situation here than most places. And he gets to play in Payton's system that produces video game numbers?

They’re most likely going to extend him or resign him.

Wouldn't it be something if this historically sad-sack franchise nearly gets shut down by Katrina, only to then experience two decades of great play on the backs of two QB's who suffered what some believed were potential career ending injuries?

Yes, I’d like that very much.

I don’t get it if he only has 1 year left? I don’t know so I’m asking.
So the Saints now have no first and no third, but they have a one year rental player this season who will be the backup? I just don’t get it unless something really unfortunate happens this season.

They would really need to.
Why didn’t they just get him before? Perhaps they wanted to see how the draft went I suppose?

They probably wanted to make sure he was fine after what should have been a career ending knee injury.

Btw, the Vikings gave up a 1st and 2nd for 1 game of always injured Sam Bradford

@BiLJ thx I forgot about possible franchise tag

I am not sold on this deal. brisgewater’s knee does not look strong, and I believe that Taysom should be the backup. Taysom stays on special teams . shite.

WOuld love for Payton to play him in the final preseason game even though he doesn’t know shite for the offense

Do you think Teddy plays in this last preseason game? Or will Hill and Barrett be getting the bulk of the snaps?

2019 QB franchise tag will be well over 25MM
that would not be ideal

Isn't the game tomorrow? I mean, will he even be in the city by then?
