Would be a good setup for Winston.
The Vikes got any decent O Linemen?

Things can always change, especially as the deadline nears, but I would be surprised if he is moved.

Why would the saints wanna get the deal done before we play Vikings?

Are you not familiar with the definition of the word “deadline”.?

Yeah, I didn't realize the deadline was so soon. If we're talking 6th rounder as compensation, no way I make that trade... a win for the saints over Vikings is more valuable that that

Want to get deal done before playing Vikings in hopes that Winston will be their QB when they play them. Sure win.

Jameis for Justin Jefferson straight up?

You can't put a price on Jameis's locker room value to our organization.

BREAKING: Per source, the Minnesota #Vikings and New Orleans #Saints are discussing a trade that would send QB Jameis Winston to Minnesota.

I’m told both sides are “pushing hard” to get a deal over the line before tomorrow’s deadline, and Winston is “eager” for the opportunity.

#NFL
Check this guy's timeline. There is "breaking" news for many teams every hour or so. Just an attention whore.

Even if we didn’t play the Vikings, he’s worth more to us as a backup than anything we could reasonably get for him.

Exactly

He throws out hundreds and hundreds of "trade rumors" out a year and deletes a lot of them. Hoping to hit on one

Or maybe a 7th in 2030 from the Vikings and we give them back Winston and the 2024 2nd from Denver.
Loomis needs to match his prior trade results.

Why did they do that? Sweat was gonna be a FA, so just wait and sign him in the offseason

ETA... they have up a 2nd for a rental during a garbage season

I would guess a long term extension with Sweat is in place as part of deal.

I suppose it will be, but it seems you could just wait till the offseason. You're basically giving up a top 35ish pick to get a head start on offseason

yea, i don't get the value of a 2nd without having a locked down extended price done. Bears are dumb.

This is true but they also have a ton of cap space a proven NFL player > 2nd round pick

You gotta imagine --- trading him means trading your playbook. is 6th round pick worth a potential loss & likely losing the 7th playoff spot?
