NO DOUBT especially for $6 Million to hang out. Pro Sports salaries, etc out of control

I hope he gains 10 lbs by the time he starts.. he’s always been a stick figure

It would be wise for him to learn under CSP & Brees for a year or 2.
Beyond this year is 100% a pipe dream
Dude's been a 1st rd pick and starter, and saw how much that mattered (got released after an injury).
He just got squeezed out of NY because he isn't the latest 1st rd pick. I think he realizes he's about 1 more move away from becoming a journeyman.
And now, he's suddenly on a team with the absolute best offensive scheme, a loaded and young offense, a similarly young defense... and a future Hall of Fame QB who's 39 yrs old.
There's only a few potential spots for him to go start (not Minnesota again, not anywhere with a current star QB, and not anywhere with a #1 draft choice). Jacksonville would be an option, maybe.
Or, he could wait here safely as the definite #2 for a year or two, and take the reigns of perhaps the best offense in the league, after fully learning the system.

I'm just thinking of what HE'D want to do. Like my first post, he's willing to wait, but for how long?
Bridge sounds intelligent. An intelligent NFL QB would gladly wait 2 years while learning from SP and Brees. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity. Bridge can let his body heal and spend time strengthening it for the next 2 years while learning and being prepared in case Brees gets hurt. He knows his tine will come, so no need to rush.

Ive said several times that this isn’t strictly beneficial for us. If Teddy is the guy and fits into this offense it’s going to be extremely beneficial for him long term...both financially and for football reasons.
Would you rather maybe get a nice contract, wait a year and be at the helm of the saints offense or sign with some shite offense like Cincinnati or someone similar. Especially if the money is close.
Teddy potentially has 3 long term deals in his career if he’s a good fit and stays healthy. All with ever increasing qb salaries and salary caps. IMO he’s way more likely to maximize his long term earning potential in a Sean Payton offense rather than signing with some lower tier team. Hell he will still be younger than Brees was when he started here even if it’s two years.

You think backup QBs just sit around all the time?

Yeah from everything I’ve read he’s actually very intelligent. Just watch interviews on YouTube. He’s got it. He just needs to stay healthy
I also think he really wanted/wants to be here. He talked about how he always wanted to run our offense and studied our O in college

Plus, there is always the possibility of a trade for a team needing a QB during the season. The Saints could always flip Bridgewater and move up the draft.

As long as Drew is putting up 70% completion rates and 4,000 yard seasons Teddy can sit and wait. Not going to rush out our best player ever.

I think we have a good shot at retaining him actually as long as none of the established starting vets retire.
Who would you project to be in the QB market that would want to come after Teddy in 2019?
NE/Pitt/NYG if their guys retire
Miami and Cincy have crap at QB but crap they seem committed to.
Bortles just got extended and is coming off a Conference Championship appearance.
Surprisingly the league seems to be at a decent place QB wise in terms of teams wanting to see what they have in place.

Brees is an ideal mentor for someone like Bridgewater. I’m sure he’s going to be a sponge as long as he’s on the same team

Miami was in on Teddy, and that's what drove the price up a bit.
But yeah Cincy does seem strangely over committed to Andy.
Edit:
And if it did come done to us or Mia next year that would only further the eerie parallel between he and Brees (I mean it already did kind of come down to us and Mia in the trade).

Is Teddy chasing a legacy or just millions? That’s what I want to know

Worst case scenario , it cost the team a third round pick for someone who can come and be at least a game manager
should Brees go down for an extended amount of time.
We had no one on this roster currently who could.
Our window is now and maybe next year. Best case scenario Bridgewater is an insurance policy the team can re-sign
and develop into maybe the 2nd best Q. B. we have had on this franchise. That isn't so far fetched given the level of talent at QB before Brees. I think this was the right move at the right time and I think that is pretty much the consensus from most of the analyst. Sometimes you just have to pull the trigger.

Teddy Bridgewater coming off a career ending knee injury. Same as Drew Brees coming off a career ending shoulder injury. Sean Payton gave Drew brees a chance when nobody in the league did'nt and look how that turned out. Sean saw something in Bridgewater a guy who has great character, a great football IQ hard worker, great locker room guy, accurate passer and a competitive SOB. Granted the guy wants to play but he knows the team is Drew's and when Drew decides to hang it up. Then it will Be Bridgewater to take it over. I think Bridgewater sees a very bright future for him, the guy is still young.

Dolphins QBs who started a game since 2006
Culpepper
Harrington
Lemon
Green
Beck
Pennington
Henne
Thigpen
Moore
Tannehill
Cutler
*New England sure seems fortunate to be in a division with 3 equally inept franchises to run through annually.
Saints QBs who started a meaningful game since 2006
Brees
McCown(1 game due to injury)
Saints now also have Bridgewater who I would take over Tannehill and Osweiler(Dolphins backup lol)
