he was actually much improved this preseason, but keeping him is at the expense of another player at another position... he does have some value on ST, but so does CGJ, Hardee, Washington, and even Ozigbo.... we should have kept 4 RBs instead of 5 Ss...

I also don’t like Harris over Butler but if he’s going to be the guy at returner then I get it. Carr I just don’t get at all. He doesn’t really play special teams and is just all around meh imo. Maybe he blocks well and SP puts a lot of value in that but other than that I don’t see what he brings that a bigger/more talented Butler would bring.

Butler was a flash in the pan with how he did on the practice field before preseason games started. I hope either him or lil’j pass waivers so we can sign them to practice squad, tons of potential there.
Saints are all in this year. SP and Drew LOVE Carr so he stays. Hence why he started through the playoffs last season.

These things obviously mean something to Brees. You bring up Coleman, Brees said similar stuff about him, how the hell you think he plays 48 games in the NFL? Brees and SP have a history of latching on to these intangible types over the athletic freaks
Carr has 14 career targets, what do we really know about him? We know he led the big 10 in catches, yards and receptions - not DJ Moore, Chris Godwin, Curtis Samuel, George Kittle. His testing numbers check out. Brees likes him. Don’t need the dude to catch 100 balls. There may be a role for him though
