IMHO, I think Reese, Downs, Delaney and Mauigoa are the best prospects. I’m not an expert and I’m sure thing will change as we go through the Sr. Bowl and combine. But these guys look like guys who can come in, start, and make an impact. Others like Tyson (speed and injury) and Bain (size and consistency) have questions.
Full disclosure, I haven’t watched that much of Love or Fano.
We need so much talent at so many positions, I think you have to take the best player that can have the most meaningful impact on your team. That’s usually not a RB, but if CKM wants him, then I’ll support it.
Since we found our QB of the future though, I think protecting him and surrounding him with talent is priority one. I think building our OL helps both our QB and our running game. And good RBs can be found in later rounds (Cook in the 2nd round, De'Von Achane in the 3rd, Kyren Williams in the 5th, Breece Hall in the 2nd, etc.)

How did Saquon do this year when their OL wasn't elite?
I mean, he did have 480 touches last year too Jake. I’m not a RB in the 1st guy but Love feels different especially given the glaring lack of playmakers. Even a great OL can’t help players make big plays.

Team needs an impact guy. I’m fine with either side of the ball and fine with any position including running back.
If going RB early he needs to be a special special guy. Production/Film/Measurable/40 time all have to check the box.
Film needs to show him making guys miss 1 on 1.
Film needs to show him pulling away from guys in the open field.
Film needs to show ability in the passing game.
If all these boxes aren’t checked you don’t go RB round 1.

Not directed at anyone, but tbh I think given the lack of depth in FA at most positions, and the only one really being loaded being HB, I'd rather spend the FA money at that position (especially since none of the guys will be top money HBs contract wise) and go elsewhere in the draft.
There is a noticeable lack of receivers, interior Oline, and DBs, as well as mostly aging pass rushers. Outside of HB, TE and interior Dline may be the deepest positions in free agency, so I would try to fill the first group in the draft and the latter in FA (though a double guard dip would be fine as well).

spotrac puts Etienne at a $7mm/yr projection
Etienne has averaged 1300 yards and 8 TDs in Jax
Breece Hall has averaged 1450 yards and 7 TDs the last three seasons
These guys are going to get the highest payday of their careers given their age . $7 mil barely puts them in the top 20 highest paid RB
Doesn’t have to be love but we should reset the RB room
Via the draft
