My Israel tax went up but the food stamp tax was lower this year since they can’t buy cokes and cookies anymore

I went from owing around $5700 last year to getting a refund this year. Not sure how much yet but it beats having to owe every year.
Most of mine is due to mortgage interest and salt tax change.

I made more and owed less - anyone claiming the DJT tax cuts didn't save them money is a liar.

On average it has been about a $500 difference for Americans

I tried that last year, but she beat me to the mailbox and got the refund check...

I got a massive refund. But then I do get a ton of overtime so it makes sense.

I went from owing 3K to just $600 while making more. Got back 1K from the state somehow so actually came out ahead.

Gave up my second job in December 2024 and never adjusted my withholdings. Getting over $15k back was fun, I paid off my truck and put about 10k up for now. Corrected things the day after I filed

With DJT promising higher tax refunds this year, what has been the consensus so far? Better return? Lower? About the same?
Not me, I don't make tips or overtime.
But you guys are welcome because I voted to lower your taxes anyway. Selfless act.

Nice! I always owe a few hundred. But this year was $20 more owed than last year. With a pre-tax increase to my 401k. Still didn’t help.

Well for you and me the 2017 tax cuts were extended. Wed be paying a lot more if it hadn't.

What is this refund business you speak of? I have not had a return in nearly a decade…
