I agree, with a caveat. I've always thought, if you CHOOSE to engage in a behavior that is proven to have harmful side effects or can end poorly, due so at your own risk, health and wealth. If you choose not to wear your seat belt, not wear a helmet, not get vaxxed, or whatever the behavior, the cost for your behavior should be solely on you. No ward of the state, no hogging the ICU for something completely preventable.

Apples to apples with unvaccinated and similar age cohorts?
There's no evidence it's worse but with a partially vaccinated population I don't think those numbers support less severe on their own.
But sorry, when hospitalization rates are down 98%, I find it foolish to even support the notion its a more severe strain

I would say that’s an incomplete picture. I would also say what doctors are saying is probably anecdotal.
But I would have to find data that controls for the fact that the most vulnerable are largely vaccinated. That can’t be overstated when trying to compare severity. Since most deaths and hospitalizations occurred among the most vulnerable populations with Alpha and those folks are now largely vaccinated, those being hospitalized now are among the population not as vulnerable - younger, more in shape, fewer comorbidities, etc.

People will do what they think is best for them.
However, DO NOT ALLOW ANY WOMAN WHO IS PREGNANT OR WHO MAY POSSIBLE GET PREGNANT GET ANY VACCINE
They have zero data on the safety of the vaccine on pregnant women. I have further information I wish I could share. I am not trying to sound like Mr. Black Helicopter, but none of the vaccines are safe for pregnant women.

The "Dr" on Foxnews said that they expected the 50-75% breakout infections, only they did not say that when they rolled out the vaccine. They said if people got it, they could go back to normal. If they had said 50-75% people were going to Have a breakout infection, much fewer people would've gotten the vaccine. She also said, in the same interview, that the vaccine had 96-98% efficacy. Huh?
Also, where did the flu and RSV go? They have been renamed "COVID-19".
I've been in ER medicine for over 20 years in some facet. Yes I've seen people intubated with flu or RSV. I've seen people die from complications of both. On their death certificates, it didn't say "Flu" or "RSV". It said "Respiratory Arrest" or "Respiratory Demise" in the old days. NO ONE is dying from COVID-19. NO ONE. People are dying WITH it, but NO ONE is dying OF it.
The swab that is used for COVID-19 is the EXACT SAME SWAB used for Influenza. In the early days of this "pandemic", this is how COVID-19 was diagnosed: they tested the patient for FLU, if it was negative, and the patient presented with respiratory symptoms, they were COVID-19 positive. That's it. Also, if the patient was tested more than once, they counted the positive tests, not the patients. One patient that I had, had counted for 10 positive COVID-19 cases in a single month. And this wasn't atypical in the beginning or throughout the "pandemic".
Home work assignment:
Why don't next time you get any respiratory symptoms, go to your physician and demand they test you for flu AND ONLY the flu. I'd be willing to bet they will either suggest a COVID-19 test, of they'll give you Theraflu without testing you.

You do realize they studied the vaccine in pregnant women as well?
Pregnant women were part of the vaccine trials and it was determined to be safe then.
We recently had a severally ill pregnant woman in our COVID icu. Not vaccinated. No other health issues besides being pregnant. Pregnant women should absolutely get the vaccine. I know my OB/GYN recommends it to all her pregnant patients.
