The insurance only pays if a mandatory evacuation is issued.

The 12z Euro shifted back east some but, more importantly, it moves things along faster. Rain totals are much more manageable in the 5 - 8" range for areas east of 85. The Euro EPS is pretty much in line with this and keeps the bigger rain totals out of Louisiana.

I do not like meteorological snafus.
I do not like these, not one bit.

You know it's a bad omen when just 5 days ago you had a possible tropic system moving across Florida now a system with 40% chance to develop before hurricane season even officially starts. That's why I laughed at that prediction I saw last month for this season. Going to be another long and dreadful hurricane season for Gulf.

This storm has no bearing on the rest of hurricane season. It could be the only one for the year or there could be 10 storms in the gulf.
If El Niño forms before the end of summer like predicted that should hamper the conditions needed for storms to develop in the gulf

Nothing to see here for south La other than it will bring some well needed rain at times.
