Not a donor. No one wants my innards, and if they can save 9 lives by letting mine go........

Right after my Uncle passed from cancer the eye bank called the hospital room to speak to my Aunt.
They asked her to donate his corneas.

I signed it on my drivers license. My brother is on dailysis, and if I had been a match, I would have given him a kidney.

A neighbor is coming home tomorrow after giving a kidney to a cousin in Boston.

I just have some scepticism about the grey area of being able to save my life and harvesting my organs...like how do they make that decision?
There is no gray area, and the decision is no different if you're a donor or not a donor.

As a liver transplant recipient this past February, I want to say that people like your father who donate their organs upon death are, quite literally, lifesavers. And their thoughtfulness is VERY much appreciated.

So if you been on a machine for 10 years and the only thing keeping you a live is the machine and your family is racking up large amounts of debt to keep you alive, you would selfishly want them to keep you on it?

Give my knee's to the needy and the deaf can have my ears if they don't mind the size

I've done many donor cases. It's not for me. I don't like the extended period we keep the body alive and I don't like the act of harvesting before cardiac death. I appreciate those that choose to do so but I can't commit to the same.

My sister received a liver in the late 80's but didn't make it. I'm now an organ donor hope one day I can help someone out. Glad you are taking well to yours.

Just remember: regardless of what is or isn't written on your license, your next of kin will be the one making the decision, so let your intentions be known if it is something you want to do.

Very few people actually discuss their thoughts on the matter, and the first time they even think about it is as their loved one has just died.

Because the same people that think 9/11 was an inside job also think that organ donors will have wealthy people pay to have them murdered so that they can obtain their organs.

I'm a donor.

If you are rich you would harvest organs while they were alive. Maybe make them a blood boy for awhile

So unOT of you
