That sounds really tough. Check back in if you make it and tell us about it.

It's not bad if you work yourself into it. Basically start out intermittent 16-8. Then start 24 hour ones (dinner-dinner) once that becomes easy then 36 hours. Then try a 2-3 day fast. Day 1 is the hardest, day 2 isn't bad, and day 3 flies by.

ETA: The Health board can probably give you more advice. And then argue about fasting for another 10 pages.

Hardest time will be hours about 18 to 24. After the initial hunger passes it really isn't all that bad.

Most important thing is to ease back into eating after the 3 days. Have some broth and then a few hours later a little bit of chicken breast. If you have a big meal after you fast you'll be able to shite through a screen door.

Have you ever done a fast before? I would start with a 16 hour or 24 hour fast first if not. Be sure to break your fast with a small meal (preferably some bone broth or some type of light liquid calories) about an hour or 2 before any substantial meal. Your hunger is going to come and go, it will coincide with your current eating habits. If you have not fasted before you are going to feel like shite once your body eats up all of its glycogen stores. But once you break through that barrier and start switching into ketosis you will feel better depending on how fat adapted you are. Some people become constipated after while others (like myself) have butt explosions about 20 minutes after you break your fast. After 2 days you might find you have more energy and an acute mental clarity. Plato used to fast and forced his students to fast for the mental clarity. Good luck.

I went 3 days once just to see if I could.

Strangely enough, I was only insanely hungry 1 time. I woke up like at 2am so hungry my pillow was looking good.

Went right back to sleep and woke up with just normal hunger.

I read some people could pass out after 3 days so I ended my little test at that point.

Each time you fast you're one step closer to converting.

Muhammad thanks you.

Awesome info. Thanks.

I intermittently fast pretty regularly. I've read about the significant health benefits once your body initiates autophagy, and it's something that is very interesting to me. Basically, out with the old....

We'll see how it goes, and I'm definitely gonna have my wife pick up some bone broth

Ive done plenty of one and two day fasts all. Only once went longer, probably 5 days. Wish I would man up and do a legit extended fast.

Fasts are amazing. I feel great afterwards.

if you haven't listened or watched Dr. Peter Attia talk about fasting, you really really need to.
