There's a YT documentary on attraction and in one study, they had a line of 10 single men and a line of 10 single women and each one was wearing a number but what they didn't know was that the people conducting the study said the numbers represented an attractiveness rating from 1=ugly to 10= great looking.
The men & women were asked to pair up with who they are attracted to. In theory, everyone should have walked straight to the 10's as they were the most attractive.
Instead, The study showed the 1-5's picked the other 1-5's because that's who they thought they had the best chance of being accepted by and not rejected. The higher numbers also paired up, with no more than 1 or 2 differences in rating. (An 8 with a 10, a 7 with a 9).
Interestingly, in another study in the doc, they showed a group of women a picture of a good looking guy and an average joe and all said the good looking guy was most attractive. To another group of women, they showed the same pictues of the same guys, but this time, the pictures showed stats like what job & salary each one makes, with the handsome man making less than $40k/yr and the average joe making $200k/yr. Unsurprisingly, every woman picked the average joe as most attractive.

Women are SO shallow. They should just pick some pure physical attribute like men would.

I’ve never thought of myself as good looking Average at best but I’m in decent shape for 53 but looking back I’ve always dated pretty women. I’ve always gotten pretty women to go out with me I’m nice to everyone ( I try to be anyways) and I’m pretty quick with jokes, I really think that’s what has got me over all these years. My wife is 53 ( no pics) is successful and beautiful ( no pics) but she looks like Jami Gertz with only a few more pounds

I'm ugly as frick, but I overcame and got a hot wife because I play in bands. For a dude, just holding a guitar on stage gives you at least a 2.5 jump on the 1-10 scale. 3.0 if you're a drummer.

The study was about attraction, not picking character attributes in a mate to marry.
Getting a rise over some hot body is biological. Getting turned on by paper & green ink is an unnatural perversion.
