Yep. All you can eat Boiled shrimp at the shrimp basket. Plane advertising got me there.

I can tolerate the planes with the banners but the damn boat ruins it. It’s like pop up ads.
All the damn sightseeing helicopters are annoying too. It’s non stop.

I remember seeing a place with cheap oysters in PCB. So we went. They had tons of flavors of baked oysters. The oysters were served on plastic trays with the cheese melted on the tray. They tasted rubbery.
I looked in the kitchen and they were putting oysters from containers on cleaned shells then adding the butter and cheese and then microwaving them.
Place was called Shuck Ems and it was disgusting.
But only went because saw plane advertising them.

Most of the guys flying are recreational pilots that enjoy flying on their off time. They get a little coin from the sponsors doing something they love to do. If the advertisement works, who knows ?

Yup, been doing it for several years now but I'd rather watch the pelicans.
I have my 5 or 6 eating spots I go to so they're just wasting dollars if I'm the target.

Late 70s to early 80s I grew up in a little hole in the wall called Pirates Cove in Josephine, Alabama. Good ole Barry Seal owned a home a few houses down and ran a banner flying service out of a private air strip near where Barbers Marina currently is. A few summers he paid a few of us 10.00/hr to rig them up. It wasn’t until many years later any of us found out about all the other stuff but he was good to us for sure.
