I recently lost track of the speed change and was tracked doing 75 in a 55.....IN LIVONIA...I knew I was fricked.... Guess that cop was in the holiday spirit cause I got let off with a verbal warning. Was stunned

frick all you hypocritical assholes who keep saying, “Quit speeding.”

Every single one of us has and does drive over the speed limit. Just admit it’s a fricking scam by the police to fund themselves.

I typically drive 67-68 in a 70. But I keep in the right lane. I may get up to 75-80 while passing, but only if the traffic in the left lane is bookin it.

how does enforcing traffic laws = scam?

Are they calibrating the radar guns to show higher numbers?

Are they shooting radar in undercover vehicles?

Are they giving tickets outside of their jurisdiction?

Exactly where is this "scam" taking place?

65 on my commute. Its generally very difficult to significantly influence your arrival time on an under 2 hour drive without driving REALLY fricking fast.

I once tracked it over the course of 2 years on a 70 mile commute. Without being totally insane, the biggest way to influence your travel time is get lucky on the red lights close to the office.

I know I'll never spend a dime in some of these places due to their predatory police practices. For example, Washington and their policing of I-49.

Had my cruise set on 74 while on I-49 near Opelousas because I knew that it was a speed trap. Idiot gave me a ticket for 80mph in 70 mph zone. Have never spent another cent in that parish.

suggestion would be to call the number listed on the ticket - ask them what to do if you would not like this ticket on your record. In my experince their request is an easy one - and well worth it to not show up on your record.

Same place and I called - ended up paying $150 to keep it off my record - that’s part of their scam.

The Scott PD really pisses me off. They set up in areas where it's easy to accidentally speed if you aren't paying attention, and it's always in the mornings when people are rushing to either get their kids to school, or go to work.

I got a $200 ticket a few months ago going 35 mph. What a terrible criminal I am. Only reason I got it was because I was distracted by a phone call and not consciously going slow. I pulled over 1/2 a block from my work.

I'd honestly just rather the raise taxes if the police aren't making enough money.

Okay grandma.

It works well to reduce driving stress by not worrying about the cops, especially on long drives. I drove 22 hours from Cheyanne, WY, straight through to BR, solo. Also 20 hours from Cape Hatteras to NOLA, straight through and solo.

I remember being a kid and thinking driving was exciting. You'll probably drive slower too when you grow up.

...if you make it.

Seems pretty standard for 10 over. What is the complaint?

Exactly. Plus, driving under 70, I can get >20 mpg. On long hauls, I can cut out a whole gas stop and save time that way.

And I drive an 18 year old 4x4 Taco. No need to push that thing.

Don’t worry about me, I’ll make it. I speed, but usually only 5 over.

The last ticket I got was like 8 years ago and it was for 62 in a 55 because I was on my phone (hands free) and was distracted.

Why the frick would you drive under the speed limit? Thanks for creating more traffic jams a-hole.

Doesn't matter if you were doing 77/75, they will still pull you over and ticket you in Evangeline Parish.

LA is actually pretty reasonable compared to other states.

Get an 80 in a 60 up in Washington state and get back to me.
