I'm sure the mosquitoes will always be around.

But that damned sod web worm better be getting its arse totally kicked by this.

Throw in those sorry bastard gnats and this'll be worth it.

Minnesota as well. When I first moved up there from LA, I was sure mosquitos could not survive winter. Boy was I wrong.

Studies have shown in Wyoming, Utah, Idaho, Montana, and the Dakotas that the cold weather lessens the love bug population. Know what I'm sayin?

It won’t help with mosquitoes.

It will help some with wasps I think.

It will destroy fire ants. Last time it got this cold it took 3 years before I saw fire ants around again

I don't know, but I'm going to have a sign on my doors and windows, if they come in they need to mask up.

This is a young man's hope.

Good luck, pal. We live in the deep fried arse south. Our mosquitos will always be able to tote off a newborn.

I hope it kills the Sod Web Worm moths. Frick them. They nuked my yard this past Summer along with most folks on my street.

Bugs hibernate in a couple of different ways — including one that is straight out of science fiction. “Diapause” is the name for the way insects like mosquitoes and black ants slow down their metabolism when they sense that days are getting shorter, food is getting scarcer, and temperatures are dropping. The move freezes their development (and their bodies too) as they wait for warmer days to arrive again. That's when they'll thaw out and buzz away.

Do you think, with these recent record low temps, a lot of the bugs will be killed off and we'll see less of them come spring/summer?

Watch Happy People, A Year in the Taiga. They get clouds of mosquitoes in Siberia where the river is frozen like 6 months out of the year.

The only bugs it killed were mud bugs. Price will definitely go up.

Probably not. But I’ve wondered down here in the south if a farmer could decrease the population of insects in his field by rowing up his ground just before a hard freeze. I know you can wipe out fire ants by doing that.
