Not to defend Ville Platte (because it's a hell-hole), but I don't think that Ville Platte has much of a connection to the Acadians who were expelled from Nova Scotia. I'm pretty sure that most of the original settlers of Ville Platte came directly from France.

Last time I was in Canada I asked every one I met to apologize for kicking us Cajuns out of Nova Scotia. No one would. They all had some lame excuse like, "that was a long time ago" or "I didn't do it." Good luck in trying to get them to pay up.
Congrats on getting the point...

Didn’t they get some kind of an apology from England a few years ago ?
Seems like an attorney with nothing else to do spent a bunch of time and money getting some kind of letter.

If anything it's a claim against the English crown. Charles has some splaining to do.

I didn't know that. Good to hear it.

Cajuns should request reparations from Canada.
Costa del Mar, Gator Tail, and Yeti would become Fortune 100 companies.

I'd settle for a sixer of Moosehead.

Both my parents have Cajun last names. I’m gonna get me some money, me

Hell yes.
Grandfather is a Landry so I went there in Feb. to get some of those reparations. Got all I want.
And I’m gonna keep going back for more.

Hell yeah both sides of my family were forcibly removed by the English. Couple of them took Micmac wives.
Hey, that's the same situation on my dad's side. He is from Georgia. His grandparents were poor arse sharecroppers who worked a tobacco farm.
The story is that England sent their prisoners here and they were located to what is now Georgia (I think they were given an option that they could be freed if they moved here). But they were sort of forced to move here so I feel like England owes my family something.

My family is part English and Scottish. I owe myself reparations.

We can make Trudeau out to be a savage that denies their past.
What say ye?
Hell yeah, I don't even want anything I just want to see Trudeau and the liberals melt.

I’m in. It’s my money and I want it now!!

It’s really crazy how these Cajuns went to the most polar opposite climate available
Posted on 5/22/23 at 5:31 pm to Gaston
You laugh...but they have as much, if not more, of a claim
