not by a mile, If you take out a 250K life insurance policy and pay 200 a month, die 2 years later how do you suppose the insurance company makes a profit off of that?

Because actuarial science determines that the $200 a month premium you paid was what the company needs from you in addition to all the other clients paying their premiums who statistically won’t die in the first two years of their policy in order to pay out all expected claims and still make a profit. You alone will never pay what will be paid out. Ever.

That goes for life, auto, and homeowners insurance. But ESPECIALLY life insurance.

Is this another thread where you're gonna act like a fricking idiot for 6 hours, be deliberately retarded, and then cry when you realize you're wrong?

If it is, can you do it in about 12 hours or so? I'm gonna need to kill a few hours in the office tomorrow afternoon.

You can’t lower your deductible AFTER damage happens and expect to pay the new lower deductible on damage that occurred before you made that change.

The insurance company is 100% in the right on this one. The applicable deductible is whatever deductible was on your policy at the time of the damage.

While you always pay for everything it varies state to state whether glass coverage is a separate line item. In SC, for example, there is no deductible for windshields for private passenger vehicles if you have comprehensive insurance no matter what your comp deductible is.

Attorneys only file lawsuits when there IS an insurance policy in place. Try to find an attorney to go after someone that’s uninsured; it’s not gonna happen. If they can’t afford insurance, how can they pay a judgement?

My truck windshield was cracked last October while driving to Houston. I've been more or less ignoring it because it's not in my line of sight while driving, so no big deal. I recently re-upped with Allstate and got my comprehensive deductible down from $500 to $100. I'm going get my truck serviced tomorrow, so I went ahead and last Monday filed a claim for a new windshield. $100 bucks, why not.

I get a call from them an hour ago confirming my appointment tomorrow morning and they're reviewing my claim with me and tell me I'll owe $500 for the windshield. I told them they were incorrect and that my deductible was currently $100 as I renewed my policy and lowered it. They told me that since I told them that the damage happened last October (when my comprehensive was $500) that's what I would owe to replace the windshield. Asked to speak with a supervisor (her name was Karen), let her have it for a bit and asked "if I would have said this happened last week, I would only owe $100, correct?" "Yes sir, that's correct." "So since I was honest about when it happened, I have to pay an extra $400?" "Unfortunately yes sir, that's the case."

TL;DR - Lie. Lie your arse off.

It's an interesting position to take where you think it makes sense for someone to buy insurance after an event takes place and get the benefit of said insurance.

So how is a company supposed to pay for all the claims when the other driver is uninsured? Insurance companies don't have an endless pit if money like people think they do

Scumbag, souless personal injury attorneys are on here downvoting you . You're attacking their occupation of professional letter writers. Their worst nightmare is to actually go to court. Send letters make money! Damn the consequences!

They truly are the reason it's so expensive to insure our cars in Louisiana and the reason that there are so many uninsured motorists on the roads.

They are an embarrassment to our state with their constant commercials and endless billboards.

By its nature all insurance is a ponzi scheme where you are betting against yourself to fail. You are insuring against a negative that you hope never happens. meanwhile the insurance company is hoping the same thing but trying to hedge its bet by bringing in more cash to cover the worst case scenario. If to many people pull money out hen someone is going to get stuck holding the bag. It should only be allowed for the most extreme scenario as it was initially designed for whether health, auto, home etc. .

Progressive Insurance is the most corrupt entity on planet earth.

They colluded with Liberty Mutual to accuse me of being at fault in a car accident in which I was hit making a right turn into a parking lot by a girl who was texting while driving and not even watching the road.

I paid Progressive to represent me, but they decided I was at fault without so much as providing me a means to send them photographs of the damage that prove irrefutably that my account is correct.

I was shocked and appalled because the case is so cut and dry there is no real argument placing me at fault.

It’s conspiracy, collusion and racketeering and I’m sure as hell not going to bend over and take it.

If you’re insured by Progressive, get a new insurance company pronto. Those evil SOB’s don’t even look at the photographs or details of the incident before throwing their own clients under the bus.

So rather than pin the fault on the other driver so that Liberty Mutual would've been on the hook for all the damages to your vehicle and Progressive wouldn't have had to pay out anything, you think they colluded to make themselves responsible for paying for damage to her car, possibly bodily injury to her, and paying to fix your car too (assuming you had collision coverage)?

I feel like something is missing from this story because that makes no sense.

ETA: Not saying people don't have issues with Progressive sometimes, but them voluntarily making themselves responsible for property damage and possible liability to the other driver when it was supposedly very clear that she was at-fault doesn't make any sense.
