It's obviously convenient, it's also extremely dangerous to have that as the ONLY option because you remove the anonymity and flexibility of cash.

Most places around me are cashless now.

And no government would EVER abuse their power via a cashless society, would they?

Can we just all admit it? Lots of old people bitching at first but I rarely fumble through my wallet these days and mostly use Apple Pay on my phone.
While I agree it's more convenient, I also shudder a bit at the thought of banks having the ability to just refuse to do business with people they disagree with. Buying a gun? Frozen funds while they "investigate the transaction", ultimately making you pick another bank before they will transfer the capital as it's "against their internal policies".
Capitalism should not be an easy street to citizens getting their rights revoked. In a free market, another bank would just pop up, but because we have so intertwined big business and government, we are stuck with this corporate/Fed abomination.

I never carry cash. If someone wants a bullshite tip, then I tell them I have no cash because it’s 2025.

I haven't had paper money in my pocket or wallet in four months.
Last time I did it was because I found a $20.00 Bill in the dryer.
It became a pain in the arse, had to pay for something then deal with freaking change.

Cash only except gas and sports venues. Cash is control.

A cashless society requires fast internet… that’s a problem in some places. Jazzfest went cashless and had issues

Only carry cash when we out on the boat hitting the local river bars. Other than that I use my CC for the points. Currently have over $3k and growing in points to redeem. Easy money plus all the other perks that come with using my CCs. Only people I know that use cash only are trying to hide something. Probably from their wife.

There’s a leftist term for that: unbanked

pretty much my opinion too
I hardly use anything but apple pay but I do worry that it will be abused by government. Not so much banks because I have freedom of capitalism to move my money to another that doesnt do that and provides better service, but much more the government.

That era is over grandpa.
I can’t remember a time in the past 20 years when cash was better than using a credit card.
The only people who prefer cash are people who impulse buy, can’t pay off their statement balance, and people who engage in illegal transactions.

Go eat out someplace. More and more are charging a fee for debit/credit card use. If you pay cash you avoid the extra charge.

How is the CIA going to do drug deals without cash? Just pay people in weapons?

If I buy a gun locally, I'm using cash.
I keep like 200 hundred in my wallet for emergencies, and have a bit more in the house under the same situation.
