The guy was in contact via his survival radio, presumably they could just geolocate him from that. Not saying they didn't use their fancy heartbeat detector, but seems like a flex more than anything else.

Piker.. the girls where doing that in my neighborhood. We were busy cutting the bottoms out of tennis ball cans, taping them together and firing Ronsonol tennis ball cannons at the turds on the next street over.
