I had a coworker who pulled up all wood from house he bought to put carpet. I have never looked at him with respect since then.

What's the deal with throw pillows? I get in trouble every time I throw them.

The corporate spy smart home technology. All of them. The fact that people are fine with Amazon and Google having an open mic on your household paints a grim picture for our future.

A china cabinet full of expensive china and stemware that has never been used. I'm looking at one right now and wondering how many trips to the local titty bar that worthless piece of shite could have financed.

Those long thin signs that say welcome that people are propping up beside their front doors. There are a half dozen in my community.

What are those plate looking things that aren’t plates but we sit plates on them and they’re supposed to be decorative? Those fricking things.

Heaven forbid I use the plate looking thing as a plate. Wife didn’t enjoy that one.

Carpet. I have no clue why people prefer carpet over wood or tile....especially if they have pets.

Because you can’t feel/see the dust and dog hair as easily if it’s dark carpet

But I agree in our house we have stained concrete throughout the whole house. Love it. However, I’ve never cleaned my house as often as I do with this one as I see everything and it bothers me.

Agree

You probably just set your toothbrush down on the sink/countertop as well.

If it’s rinsed and you clean your counter tops regularly, what’s the big deal?

The house we just bought was built in 1940 with beautiful oak and pine wood floors but all but the living room had carpet.

We pulled that shite up. Carpet is nasty. I got one of those robo vacuums to keep it mostly dust free without doing any work

Our basement is the only room with wall to wall carpet. It helps keep the screaming from our “guests” to a respectable level.

Decorative versions of anything that normally has a practical use.

Soap, pillows, towels, candles, etc.

Yep. I wonder how much damage those things did while they were flying around the skies of Louisiana the other day?

Do you use plates or just serve the food directly on your sprayed and disinfected countertops?

The countertops are work surfaces in my house. Dough is rolled out on them, food is prepped on them, etc.

They are scrubbed after each use. I might use the spoon rest if it’s in front of me and I think about it (and always use when guests are serving themselves) but otherwise I think nothing of setting it down anywhere.

FWIW my toothbrush lives in a drawer.
