Hopefully it was all the Indian IT guys they fired, the ones that they canned their Americans for to save a buck. #frickDisney

I think this is to put pressure on Gov. Newsome. Most of those layoffs are going to be in California.

When Disney rehires people to re-open the CA parks, it's going to take a lot of money and time as well. I would love to know how profitable the CA parks are. I dare say... is it worth it?

The mouse has a lot of difficult decisions to make going forward. Do they close the CA parks, sell the land, and focus on investing in WDW and the overseas parks?

Maybe disney should put an age restriction on disney parks. No one over 69 y.o. allowed. Then they can open up

Or, just open the fricking parks and let people and families make decisions as to what is "safe" for them to do.

My wife's dept. had a dozen people in it. They were all furloughed, then 3 were called back. She is one of the three. They are hurrying her on a project because the fiscal year ends Friday. She may get the axe then, but they are telling her no.

Not surprised. It's a Mickey Mouse operation.

They’ve been putting public pressure on Gavin for a while now. Maybe he will finally act

Only because shareholders are complaining, and SeaWorld made them look bad by getting approved to open under zoo guidelines.

Disneyland did not have to close to start with. They were exempted from the initial shut down order. That was Bob Iger continuing to use the business as a political tool, that CHOSE to close. Iger was also on the state's re-opening committee. For his own political future, Iger wanted them, and all his competitors, to stay shut.

No matter your own political leanings, it is obvious that Disney has taken the far left line for at least a decade. Shareholders let Iger do it because they were happy with the bottom line. Now, not so much.

It's amazing with how many stories have surfaced showing this whole thing has been a farce that there are still die-hard Chinese Flu True Believers. Unreal.

I think their union (at least in FL) wouldn't let their members go back to work. I think the fricking workers union bears a lot of responsibility here. Frick unions.
