Bon Marche was the mall with a second theater in the outer parking lot, Cortana had only the one inside.

They definitely had a movie theater there. I saw Sylvester Stallone's classic "Over the Top" there and my friends and I practiced our best "over the top" moves at the entrance (2 or 4 at the back of the mall) while we waited for our parents to pick us up.

Good times.

Cortana? Really? That must have been before my time. I remember the other mall having a theatre. I remember seeing Ace Venture there.

Bon Marche’s McDonalds was all the way on the other side of the mall. Got sketchy after 8:00pm. Broadmoor dollar theatre, you had to hit the Frostop.

There was no McDonalds by Bon Marche. There was one by the Broadmoor on the corner of Florida/Sharp. And Frostop is downtown on Govt. not close to Broadmoor

Why do y'all keep misspelling 'theater'. We aren't British and nobody spelled it that way in the 80s-90s.

This is correct.

The freestanding movie theater at Bon Marche was the 2 theater Bon Marche Twin. Now a Cox communications parking lot.

I saw the original Star Wars their as a youngster.

Cinema 11 was inside Bon Marche mall on the opposite end of the property.

Strangely enough I never saw a single movie at the 3 screen Cortana movie theater, too many other choices at Cinema 11 back then.

Closed in '88. Wish I could remember what movies I saw there as a kid

My now late wife, but girlfriend at the time, was a manger at one of the card shops in Cortana. I used to pick her up from work at closing time every night. I'd get there early sometimes and catch a movie. She would be waiting for me outside Chelsea's after the music had started there if it was a long film.

The only movies I actually still remember seeing there are Full Metal Jacket and Kong Lives.

Good times, good memories.

That is crazy. The only movie I ever remember seeing at Cortana was King Kong lives. I think it was for my 13th birthday. My mom took me and it was my choice. Lord knows she didn't want to see that.

I remember when it was Cinema 8 and then Cinema 11.

I saw a million movies there but I distinctly remember seeing Home Alone and E.T. there.

United Artists.

The original 8 was in the old J.C. Penny's (space open after they moved to Cortana). Another space opened on the other side of the plaza from the 8 a few years later where they put 3 more screens, resulting in 11. Saw White Nights there.

There was a McDonald's in Bin Marche between Holmes and Montgomery Ward's.

Bon Marche Twin had a huge auditorium theater/screen and the other was much smaller.

Saw

Earthquake
King Kong
Star Wars
ET
Raiders of the Lost Ark
Star Trek II
Tootsie

On first release.

Saw Escape From The Planet of the Apes at a cheap-o matinee there as well.

Saw Wildcats and Return of the Jedi. Remember standing in line that wrapped around mall waiting to buy tickets. Back when life was simple.
