Good podcaster. Without the podcast he'd still be an opener making $25 a night unable to book rooms on his own. He's not the only one in that regard, podcasting saved a lot of poor to middling standups. You just have to be careful wasting money on seeing many of them.

Growing up on the Northshore in the 70s-90s some of that shite happened.
The only story I’ve heard him tell where I knew what he was talking about was the time he said he and his friends would sit across the river from the interstate rest area and launch projectiles at gays hooking up there. No idea where exactly the gays were hooking up in the rest area but the distance involved made it sound improbable.
Just looked on a maps app and it looks like the rest areas where I-12 crosses the Tchefuncte are gone now? Sad to see the area along the river there being built up. Anyway, it existed back when Theo was younger.
The other Theo story I have is from a neighbor of his when they both lived in Tiger Plaza. My friend told me Theo would routinely forget to lock his door when he left and people would enter and steal small things because Theo was LA famous and getting bigger.

He makes up all that crap, man.
What exactly is far fetched about that stuff? It's pretty tame
I grew up in Covington in the 80's and 90's. Was a great childhood and great city and time to be a kid in.

Those aren’t his parents
Pretty sure it’s his half brother. In one of Von’s pod casts, he said he never met him until his dad’s funeral.

I was a freshmen at MHS when he was a senior. I knew him from the old outdoor bball courts at Franco's. He tried out for the high school team wearing board shorts & tennis shoes. Needless to say Coach Priola didn't take him very serious at all. I was 1 of 3 freshmen that made the varsity team over him. Lol he was a real nice guy though.
We played together on varsity then. I was a senior with him

Tiger Plaza. People would still shite because he was famous
Can confirm. Gf at the time was telling me about chicks stealing his soap and other stupid shite. I was living in Tiger Plaza circa 2000-2001. Around same time as Britney Spears at Sports/Freds. We had just gotten back to the apartment after tearing down the goalposts after beating Tennessee in OT. People were walking by saying that BS was over at Sports. Sho nuff. Good times.

He lived in Covington until he was about 12, then they moved to Mandeville.
When he was pulled from school to help with the escaped monkeys from the Primate Center he was at William Pitcher Jr. High in Covington.
A couple of years ago he came to Covington working on short film bit. I played the part of the City Leader defending the Primate Center. Nothing ever came of it.
On a recent podcast he mentioned "Coach Steve" picking him for basketball practice. It was Covington Rec District.
He then moved to Mandeville where he graduated from HS. David Duke did reside in Beau Rivage (Mandeville) for a very long time.
Theo VonKurnatowski was voted "Most Humorous" person in his class at WPJH.

Wow, a nine year old thread is bumped. Nice.
Anyway, I knew Theo at LSU. We weren’t tight but we’d chat at the Rec Center pretty often. He was very friendly dude, esp considering he was a cool kid coming off Road rules and I was a nobody. Just really outgoing.

He lived off Lee Road (La 437) in an area my family would call Frog Alley. His neighborhood on the left before you turn down River Road. My mom's best friends son is one of his best friends and he always visits his buddies family since they practically raised him. Seems like a fun dude who is killing it at what he loves

The sons name starts with a D?

According to Theo, Billy Conforto was a boxer with Aids from Laplace who died when his car hit an embankment .

David Duke lived in Beau Rivage, or Beau something but not Beau Chen, I believe. I can’t remember the name. It is on west causeway approach. It’s been a long time since I’ve been back.

His standup didn’t feel natural to me. But dude is funny AF in real life situations I bet

He's much better at conversational comedy. His stand up isn't great. I love him.

Lol that sounds made up.. Like the first time i heard James Franco had a brother named Dave Franco, i thought it was made up .
ETA ‘Beau Chateau’ would actually be a really solid porn star name

Theo is the one guy who breaks comedians with dumb little one liners.
"Mallard Luther King" might be one of the vreatest lines ever...and theo tossed it into the world with zero regard for how funny it was.

This may not be the case with him, but most comedians and comedic actors aren’t very funny at all in real life, except when they’re putting on. It’s a weird “people pleaser” condition grounded in depression.
Shane Gillis is the exception.
(Edit: and Rogan, but he is broadcaster)
