We need a baw to go on the news and say we’re worried about this years crawfish buyers. It’s been a tough year and there may not be any.

Ask them to start paying taxes. Crawfish farming is nothing but a money laundering operation. The feds have no idea how much cash they all hide

Crawfish are very good. Boiled shrimp are very, very good. For 5 bucks you can buy two ponds of Jumbo shrimp. With just 50% waste, 5$ gives you a pound of meat. Will fill up almost anyone.

I saw one place was 5lb for $55. No thanks.

That's almost boiled shrimp prices.
I can get headless boiled shrimp for $13-$14 a pound. I am not paying that for mostly shells and waste.

Every year. It's a concern for the crawfish crop for some reason or another. Won't stop until people quit buying it. And no one plans to stop altogether.

It’s January fricking 5th, everyone needs to calm down.

Just like when the saltwater intrusion didn’t effect the water intakes in New Orleans

Mother Nature will take care of everything

Plus you have to take into consideration, it’s an election year, that trickles all the way down to even crawfishermen

And if the ponds don’t provide the Spillway and Delta always does

So tell us about those horrible prices the past three years. Considering how the world was going nuts and prices for everything was shooting way up in price, crawfish were pretty normal in price.

But this years is a for real issue and we will pay a lot until the spillway crawfish come in.
Can't even find them around here this year and I remember eating some at restaurants with my daughter the first week of December last year.

Imagine if there was a year that crawfish farmers didn’t say prices are going up because (you get to name what will cause the prices to go up). The narrative always changes about why the prices will go up but it’s the same game every year

Honestly each passing year I eat less and less. It's just I don't crave them any more. I'm good with 1 crawfish boil per year. I know it sounds crazy.

Crawfish are okay, but they are not near the delicacy that louisianans act like they are.

That's the normal price at Boil House in the heights. They'll be over $100 this year i bet.

Same here. One good Saturday with nice weather, cold beer, and a couple sacks with an old 100qt igloo and some Tony’s……boom.
