so badly want to be outside when it pushes through. I love being outdoors when the wind shifts. Nothing like it.
I will be riding before work to avoid this

Ugh. Those little demons can survive any weather.

What is the ETA for the strong north winds to arrive in the Metry area? Could they possibly arrive before midnight on Thursday?

Today I learned this existed

Mine are as well, I thought that was where they were supposed to be
It doesn't matter where you put them there's always a draw back but the general thought with them being in the attic is IF there a leak that escapes the pan you are a little less likely to notice and it also will likely do more damage

Anyone who is interested Reed Timmer just went live talking about the Great Lakes blizzard that will go along with this.

I have never liked the idea of having water above my head in a house. Water runs downhill and gravity always wins.

What about the titty milk?
Is it okay to store outside if you don’t have power to your fridge?

Shreveport will drop ~26° in three hours or less. From 49° at 3pm to 23° at 6pm

Don’t get caught duck hunting in the marsh when it comes through!

I'm seeing the normal folks who don't follow TD weather experts are waking up to reality today based on my social media. I expect all hardware stores to be out of everything freeze related by the end of the day.
The run on the grocery stores over the next few days for this event and normal Christmas/Eve meal shopping should be fun.

Most people don’t remember the 1989 freeze. Here is a video I found on YouTube of the snowy conditions in the South Lafourche area:
Christmas Snow South Lafourche
All that I remember that year, was going to Walmart for some last minute Christmas items, and it had started to rain. By the time we got out it was sleeting, and by the time we made it home it was snowing.
I don’t think we left the house for 3 days following seeing those road conditions.

Anyone else way below forecast high for today? It’s 36 here in Pike county w/ steady rain. Surely there’s no chance we squeeze out a few flakes, right?

I'll take a foot of snow over freezing rain any day.
Freezing rain will take a line out in a hurry. I at least have a chance at not losing power with several inches of snow but will just be stuck in the house for a few days.

shite, after a foot of snow the plows get out and its drivable quick.
After freezing rain? Nope.
Luckily, we dont get freezing rain here.
