I'm waiting to the last minute to cover up some outdoor faucets, since I don't want the dogs to tear up the Styrofoam covers, but that would suck if we all came down with the flu and still hadn't made those preparations
Had a 100 degree fever most of thE night but took a couple Tylenol this morning and have thankfully felt pretty good today. I'm sure my fever will come back but at least I was able to take care of stuff without being miserable
Don't wait too long to put those covers on, you want to put them on while there's still some heat in the air left to trap

The flu would stop you from covering a few faucets? Jesus
Being an OT baller I have a lot more to cover than just "a few faucets". I've got multiple commercial buildings to drip sinks at, put our heaters, etc.

Any idea why it’s so hazy around BR today? Kinda looks eerie

A true OT baller has people to do those tasks.

It's starting here in Tim McGraw country. Those who survive, I'll see you on the other side. Those who don't, we'll meet again in Valhalla.

On a serious note:
Those who have elderly friends and family, especially those who may live alone, try to check on them a few times through this. Even if it is just a phone call to ask how they are and if they need anything. Looking back at the deaths during the 1989 cold wave many of them were elderly people who just had poor living conditions or tried to go outside for something. This is dangerous cold for those folks, and we should all hope to have a little support if we wind up there.

The good news is that you'll refreeze quickly.

So if we are only getting down to around 25, do I really need to put the low temp windshield wiper fluid in the cars? I think it's a waste of time. Co-worker of my wife told her that it's important.

No, a true OT baller doesn't like giving his money to other people to do shite
Especially since you can't depend on anyone to actually do anything correctly and the pipes would just end up busted anyways

Nor sure what all the fuss is about. It’s a pleasant 62 degrees here in BR

Relative in high uptown St Amant has a lot of grapefruit, Louisiana Sweet oranges, blood oranges, and satsumas that will be ruined. I was picking them as fast as I could but we can’t eat all of them. Giving some away.
