Why would they cheat? I'm sure they want people to hit it big every so often. It just brings them coming back with more people more often
If people lost every single time they'd stop showing up

Idk but I don’t trust those automatic shufflers on the blackjack tables. And frick Indian casinos in Oklahoma. They make you pay $0.50 every hand and come out roll.

It's by design that it's in their favor and for good reason
And if you're good enough at beating the house they can deny you entrance to even play
Of course casinos cheat. That's the entire business model

House has the advantage at EVERYTHING. Blackjack is the closest to an even advantage.
I've had my best nights at the craps table, but made the most money at blackjack overall.
Don't take that to mean I've actually made money at a casino. I'm lucky enough to be pretty much even in my mediocre gambling career.
I've done best at Blackjack as well. People think they know Blackjack but when you go into a Casino you realize how very stupid most are. I learned a long time ago to avoid tables that are the lowest stakes ($1,$5,$10) because that's where the idiots dwell. I've seen far too many time one person blow up a whole table for hitting on a card where the dealer is clearly at a disadvantage.
The novice's think hitting 21 is the objective when beating the dealer is the only thing that matters. Also knowing when to split, doubling and occasionally surrendering is a good thing to understand.
I typically look for tables with as few players as possible. Ideally I like one on one. To do that you need to play higher stakes tables. My happy place is 50.00 Minimum bets. I've done pretty good the last few times I was able to visit a casino. It took me getting my arse kicked the first few times playing the cheap tables to realize that's not the best way to play.
The biggest pointer I have is whatever table game you want to play invest the time to learn the game really well and you won't get drained as fast.
You can also go to most Casino's and sign up for a "VIP" card and get a coupon book fully of freebies that make the experience more entertaining.

The math of it is pretty basic. For example, at 3-card poker, the probability of being dealt a 3-of-a-kind is 1/425. What is the payout? 30-1. Hardly a "fair" payout based on the probability of getting that hand. So why would the casino need to "cheat" when their payouts are not equitable to the probability of the event happening?

Nahh. Risk their gaming license? Ohh no.
It is true that they pump oxygen into the gaming floors though.
No clocks.
But they are so tightly regulated, at least in Nevada, that they have to get gaming commission approval to pick a different carpet design or change the paint on the walls.
They actually use psychological tricks in the design on the floor to draw you to the highest revenue games.
Learned that from a guy who came and spoke to the business school at MSU when I was there. He was head of security for Harrahs casino in Vegas.

100% yes they cheat, but it’s also just simple math.

I do not think casinos cheat.
The house has the statistical advantage in every game (except true odds in Craps). Then you add people that have no idea what they are doing, who are drunk, and play sporadically, the casino will and does always come out ahead.
I think if you play blackjack by the book, you get something like 49% odds. But that is over the course, and if everyone else is playing the same. That never happens.

No, the odds are already in their favor. They love it when a customer hits big, that just causes 100 other people to lose, trying to do the same.

No, it didn’t happen to me.
I listened to a fascinating podcast about a widow who was in her late 40s when her husband died. She told the story of how she lost the 2 million life insurance policy and then her house and then ended up owning 200,000 in other loans the casino helped her get.
Then the 2nd half of the podcast was someone who had worked for years in
Client Relations for the casino.
It was his job to find lonely people and be their friend all the while making sure everything they owned went to the casino.

I found the podcast. I listened to it a long time ago so It May be a little different than my description.
I believe at the end it tells the part about the guy who worked in client relations.

I’m not sure if they cheat, but I don’t trust the digital machines. If I’m going, I’m not going to play the digital dealer blackjack, I need to see the cards come out.
Also, even the electronic Roulette with the real wheel and ball in the middle. It could be my imagination, but I swear I do great when there’s multiple people playing on it (tons of bets), but when I’m alone on it, my numbers never hit. I don’t know if they cheat, but theoretically the machine does know what numbers you choose, the speed of its wheel and the force at which it shoots out the ball. It could be programmed to hit a certain section of the wheel if they wanted.

Just seems odd to me that there’s small windows of people winning, but then these consistent droughts where everyone is losing regardless of what table they’re sitting at. Not just a few, but everyone getting drained for a duration of time. This keeps the smart people or sharks in check.
It’s like their quota period then they go back to playing it straight up (with odds still in their favor of course
Babytac actually returned to a thread of his.
The response was dumb as hell but hey he came back

Bingo! Imagine about $500 million per day being wagered in one casino. For each and every game played, the house has a simple 51% chance of winning (it actually greater than this). The house cleans up.
By the way, in 2021, for all Las Vegas casinos only, the average daily revenue (after wins are paid out) for SLOT MACHINES ONLY was 380 million....dfug!

Gave it up after I lost a bunch of money at it that I had won on blackjack one night

Even some of your better roulette dealers can hit a specific spot on the wheel whenever they want. They can hit within two or maybe three spaces on either side of the target number 10 times out of 10. I don’t think they will do this to shut everybody out, because they want the roar of the crowd to draw other suckers in. However, if the dealer has a buddy in the game the player will cover six or seven numbers having consecutive spaces on the wheel and in just a few minutes they can win an astonishing amount of money. This is why the roulette dealers are taught/forced to turn their head away when releasing the ball.
