No, just casual but polished...

I don't wear athleisure clothing anyway and I inevitably run into someone I know at the airport or on my flight.

Comfortably. Usually J Crew joggers and a Charleston-specific quarter zip from Vineyard Vines

The first response nailed it tbh. Now that I'm married I truly don't give a frick what I dress like unless the wife tells me otherwise

If I am flying but not landing and going directly to work I fly jeans and a shirt. If for direct work then yes.

opposite for me.

wifey buys the vast majority of my clothes. which i don’t mind, she’s got good taste. so she keeps fairly dressed up. anytime i leave the house not in a collared shirt, “dressing like a college student again huh?”

Or dress comfortably?

Comfortable clothing that is not trashy.

Something that would be appropriate for a business casual lunch, except for maybe running / court shoes that are good for having to "run" through airports like OJ did back in the day.

Is this common? Every time I have flown for business, my first meeting was not until the following day.

Its about 30% for me. Just depends on the time of day for the meetings and how much time I want to spend in a given city. I am flying tomorrow and have my first obligation at 530p so I will be in nicer gear than I would be if I wouldnt run into anyone until the following day (then its definitely sneaks and jeans, etc).

Screw that nonsense. I recently retired from an IT job, but before I did, I met with my CIO via Teams on many occasions where he was wearing a ball cap and t-shirt. I did the same. Except I rarely wear ball caps.

I don’t dress up, but I try to dress semi nice, like khakis or jeans and a button down or pullover

This.

And comfortable shoes.

ETA:

And if any of you bums wear shorts on a plane, frick you. I don't want your thighs touching me and I don't want to see that.

Last time I flew I was disturbed to see that even though I was casually dressed in blue jeans, I was more respectable looking than the Southwest flight attendants. They had on khaki pants and polo shirts but looked as if they'd just run a marathon in 100 degrees temps.

Depends, on business then business casual, going on vacation comfortable athletic wear.

All that said, I don't give a second of thought to what people wear at an airport, unless it's some nice cleavage or a fit rear

If I'm flying to an island somewhere I damn sure not wearing fukin khakis or jeans

Not shorts or T-shirt, but casually. Slacks, nice shirt. Or weather appropriate.

I dress nicer than I do going to be, which is more than 90% of the people at the airport.

I put on a pair of jeans and golf shirt minimum. I’m disgusted to the younger generation. I’m typically in first class but they are starting to infiltrate. Filthy human beings.
