Lots of our grandparents and great grandparents were around during the depression when there was a run on banks and you couldn’t get your money out.

Bingo. My grandmother had a rather large stash of cash in a secret compartment in her closet. Grandfather kept his collection of firearms (extensive collection of antiques) hidden behind a false wall.

People who lost money that they had in banks when the great depression started, never trusted them again. My grandparents for instance.

About half the Asians in Sugar Land.

Classic logic:
All whores are strippers, but not all strippers are whores.

My paw paw died a multi millionaire and had no credit score. He had never borrowed a dollar in his life. He had to pay a deposit to turn on his cable service when he finally got it
same as mine
he owned a grocery store on East blvd and took the cash home every night. When he died they found several hundred thousand dollars in cash and currency in his closet, in shoe boxes

My Dad. When I retired from service, I had him come live with me. He had no bank account. Kept his money is a freaking ziploc bag in a small suitcase.
I opened a bank account for him. Had to teach him how to use a debit card and ATM. Even now, when he gets a bill, he hands me cash and asks me to pay it. He’s never written a check in his life.
His wives always did all the budgeting, bill paying and whatnot. He just worked. That’s literally all he knows. You should have seen how long it took to teach him how to use a smartphone
Hell, man didn’t know how to use a washing machine. He was like a five year old.
He works for me now. He insisted I pay him cash, so that’s what I do.

All I use is cash unless I absolutely have to use a card, for a reservation
Have never used a ATM nor ever owned a Debit card
Do use the local Credit Union

My dad uses cash for almost all smaller ticket purchases
Either he's a small scale drug dealer or he's worried the FBI will know what he's doing with the random shite he buys from Lowe's

Mine eventually used banks but he didn't trust them at all.
He was a higher up at Exxon and most of his wealth was in company stock and land. He kept like 30k in his house in cash at all times.
I brought him to buy a new truck one time and we went by Bank One on the way and he took out like 18k in cash. We went to the dealership and he said this is what I'll give you for that truck, take it or leave it. If you don't want it, I'll go to the next dealership
He was a good man though. He'd do anything for his family.
