quote:Why is anyone surprised that Teedy would try to use her office for personal gain and be a complete idiot about how she went about it? This is the same Teedy who got exposed during the 2017 mayoral campaign that she had used her city council issued credit card for thousands of dollars in personal expenses. Then only after it got exposed, she repaid it.
just read the whole indictment, good lord I knew she was a moron but this is comical. She lied to the FBI in her interview, lied in grand jury testimony, destroyed and concealed evidence once under subpoena and signed a false affidavit. And in every case, the feds knew she was lying when she did it.
Unbelievable
She was a moron to do that when the charges to the card are so easily trackable. Just like she’s a moron now for everything in this indictment.

Based solely on the sheer amount of content this topic will give us over the next year, I feel like sending Teedy one of those wine & cheese gift boxes.

The same way she plays everything – throw out the Race card.
Just like a strong black woman can’t be a racist, NUTTIN a strong black woman does could ever be illegal. It's all just respirations!

I just remembered that when Vappie was initially indicted, a condition of his bond was supposed to be no contact with any potential witnesses. At the bond hearing, his attorney argued that he should have contact with Teedy because they have a "personal relationship". This was after he told the FBI the relationship was "professional".
In the interview below with former US Attorney Pat Fanning, Fanning says he would rather have eaten live spiders than stand up in court and say that his client had a close personal relationship with the mayor.
Surely, this admission will come back to haunt both Teedy and Vappie.

She hasn’t publicly said anything yet so she might actually be listening to her lawyers and has STFU. She has a teenage daughter whose father has passed away. Daughter will be without any parent for a period of time. Probably best Teedy makes a plea deal and minimize prison time …. But Teedy might think she can beat this.

honestly in the overall, what they’ve indicted her for is chickenshit par for the course in black politics grift and deception. I’m guessing they also believe (as they should) that the garbage contract fiasco was more substantial criminality but I doubt they have cooperating witnesses for that. They might, but they’d also have to indict Henry and he’s much smarter than Cantrell.
so, I doubt there’s a plea deal. This indictment IS the plea.

That poor child has to be going through some hard things right now and probably already was with all the accusations that were out there before. She has to know her mother was fooling around on the sick father before he passed away. Also, her mother was staying at the apartment more than her home.

I agree. I thought there would be some meat on the bone in the indictment. Everyone called this story two years ago or whenever it came out.

True but now they have all the evidence to back it up including text messages and they’ve directly stating they are still investigating for additional potential charges.

Court filings suggest the defense strategy will hinge on proving diminished capacity, arguing that Vappie’s judgment was so impaired he slept with Cantrell numerous times, several of which reportedly occurred with the lights on. Prosecutors remain unconvinced. “We don’t typically accept ‘bad taste in women’ as a legal excuse,” one official noted. “If we did, half of New Orleans would be in therapy instead of court.”

they are still investigating the deal with the electrical inspector who has been indicted for bribery. Cantrell is named in the indictment as "public official #1"...certainly they could indict her in that case as bribery is a two way street and she accepted the bribes (according to the indictment)
she's neither going to resign nor plead guilty, but logic would indicate that the current indictment is the best deal she's going to get
quote:
This is not the only controversy involving Cantrell. Last year, a New Orleans businessman, Randy Farrell, was indicted for “conspiracy to commit fraud with a public official.” It is widely believed the “public official” was Mayor Cantrell. Allegedly, Farrell gave Cantrell gifts, including tickets to an NFC Championship game, in exchange for the mayor firing a city investigator who was examining his building inspection company.

She also put the appeal on pause against the woman that was taking pictures of her and Vappie on the balcony of Tableau
quote:
NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - Mayor LaToya Cantrell has requested to stay the legal case against Anne Breaud, days after she and NOPD officer Jeffrey Vappie were federally indicted.
RELATED: Who is Anne Breaud and how is she linked to indictment of New Orleans mayor?
Breaud photographed Cantrell and Vappie dining together last year while Vappie was on duty. The mayor later sought a protective order against Breaud, alleging stalking and harassment.
A judge dismissed the order and required Cantrell to pay Breaud’s legal fees. The mayor appealed the ruling but lost. She was in the process of appealing again to the Louisiana Supreme Court.

You're right, she's not going to plead guilty or resign.....thats why the guy on WWL Radio this morning said she's looking at 2-10 years in prison.

Not me. They are all the same.
It's our turn now!
Black entitlement.
