We financed our golf cart for 1.9% APR, 2 year note.
If you have to finance a $10000 toy then you shouldnt be buying it. Unless its 0% financing but they usually charge you something to finance it.

A Honda Big Red back in the day went for $3k and could do work.
Have to laugh at this old trope. A 3 wheeler and off road vehicles today are not comparable in the least. Blame the ever growing penchant for overengineered equipment if you want, but this axiom is moronic.

Why are you the way you are?
Just because you are a cart boy at the local muni doesn't make you an expert on all things golf cart.

Back in my day he just got off our fricking arse and walked to get around the neighborhood or rode a bike

1.9% for 2 years is pretty much equal to the “same as cash” offer
to me $16 per month was well worth it

aside from golf course, where do people even use these?
They are handy in rural areas for knocking around and doing upkeep or moving things around or off your property. Grandkids love to go for rides, too.

What are you gonna do?
Buy a used one. All those thousands of Golf Carts out there are being turned in for newer models.
So ours looks like a used golf cart? No big deal. It will never look like the before of a Transformer. It gets us around our acreage when we don't want to use the 4wd vehicle or tractor.

Electric golf carts? I’d assume they aren’t meant for rural roads no?

Some people are financing their McNuggets and Fries, having it delivered by Uber to their apartment late at night, and then leaving it out on the steps of the complex to be eaten by raccoons.

If it's an icon golfcart STAY THE F AWAY. One burned my house down back in October.

Not at all, even though there are some rural roads that are very lightly trafficked.

Financing isn’t always a horrible idea but cars are a shite show for sure
If it is 0% financing and you are someone responsible enough to pay every month, without fail, to avoid late penalties, then financing may make sense if you just don't want to cut a big check at one time. However, me, personally, I sure as hell wouldn't pay $0.01 of interest on what is, in effect, an unnecessary toy.
When I bought a new golf cart I just paid cash even though the dealer was offering 0% financing. I didn't want to go through the pain in the arse of the paperwork to finance a golf cart. It's a "toy". I just wanted as quick a transaction as possible.

Cornered a neighbor the other day. Noticed they had just got one of those fancy golf carts. I did some googling and I’m guessing he spent around $12k.
I asked him what something like that cost. He said it worked out to around $100/month then followed with a defeated shoulder shrug …”what are you gonna do?” What an idiot.
We are a long way from a recession. Note, this a-hole also has two $70k vehicles in the driveway. What are you gonna do? Idiot.
jesus, everywhere I look today it is someone else complaining about what other people spend their money on.
jesus christ....why the frick do you care if they financed it or not? do you even know what rate he got? maybe it was smart financially to finance it.
but seriously...why the frick do you care what other people spend their money on?

Mine is financed at 0%…..why would I not take that?

Finance at 0%, then put the cash you would have used in a high yield savings account or even your 401k to let it work for you. Paying cash is not always the best option.

(Baby Tac)
I have a douchebag neighbor Iike him. His favorite past time is worrying about everybody’s business.
And he thinks he is so much smarter than everyone else in the whole parish.
He was giving me shite one day because I had a Stihl chainsaw.”I don’t know why you want to buy expensive Stihl chainsaw,I buy the cheap Poulan saws at Lowe’s ,get 2-3 years out of them, throw them in the dumpster and go buy another one.”
I paid $400 for the Stihl in the late ‘80’s,25 years later it was still going strong.
If he got 2 1/2 years avg. out of $125 saws,in 25 years he had gone through 10 saws,10 x $125= $1250.00.
Obviously he’s not as smart as he thinks he is.
I avoid him like the plague now(as does his 3 sons and all the neighbors) but I would like the opportunity to go show him my new golf cart I paid $18,000 for,and watch him get apolectic. He would surely ask and I would surely tell him just to watch him get red in the face, spit and sputter and tell me how dumb I am.
I get bored one day,I might just ride it up to his house for the entertainment.
