If there were such a thing as a no lose strategy, eventually everyone would figure it out and there would be no casinos.

There is nothing a gambler can do to change the mathematical odds, the house is going to get your money over the long run. Anyone that thinks they have a winning system just doesn’t understand math.

I was teaching this to high school kids last week when we were driving past Choctaw casino in Oklahoma and they were amazed at how big and fancy it was and how they couldn’t wait to go win money there when they turned 18.

“Boys, there’s a reason that building is so beautiful and fancy, and it’s not because people are going in there and winning money”

Craps and Baccarat have the least house advantage.

That said, you're still going to lose.

I met this old man that moved in a condo by me after Katrina. I’d sit on the patio and have a few drinks with him after I walked home from grad school at LSU. He would go to Harrahs and just walk around the slots and look for a light on. He said you wouldn’t believe the amount of people who don’t know how to play… or not paying attention… or drunk. So he would walk around and just print out winning tickets that people left behind. Sometimes only a dollar or a quarter but sometimes it was a big one. Then he would just cash the tickets in the automated machines. He said he’d play a little to avoid suspicion.

He had itemized winnings of over 30,000. I had a hard time believing him. But I was dating a girl in Med school in New Orleans, so sometimes I’d go down there and hit up the casino while she was in school. Sure as shite it worked. Had a 100$ ticket one time. Risky getting kicked out, but it was not a bad way to kill some time… walking around with a drink looking for free money.

I have a friend who reads the Racing Form every day, he places only maybe 3 or 4 bets a week, he rarely loses. I ask him why he doesn't bet more, he says something about a cow only can give so much milk.

Winning at gambling takes discipline. But if you’re gambling you have no discipline in the first place.

You can "have an edge over the house" if you count cards in Blackjack. That coupled with money management techniques can have you winning a decent amount consistently.

I once got kicked out of the Microsoft Blackjack game on one of our first computers. It accused me of counting cards. I was personally offended.

I did learn to count cards on it and had a massive amount of winnings. Too bad it was all fake and I forgot how to do it.

This is exactly correct. They definitely didn't build them off of people winning

Blackjack is probably your best bet

Some things to really consider given your mindset

Some irony in your post:
Probably and probability relationship

The remaining uncertainty in “probably” that suggests your approach to gambling would also leave yourself unnecessarily exposed to uncertainty (not a good gambling quality to have).

The multiple layers of meaning in “best bet”, as if the gambling has begun (is it really Blackjack?) before the actual gambling has begun.

The biggest, though, by far is your objective. Do you really want to stay in a casino for a long time? Perhaps a better objective would be to win in a casino (the hardest part given those pesky casino probabilities) and perhaps at a certain rate. would this not be a financially healthier proposition?

If being in a casino gets the jollies going, become a dealer.
