This is an underrated take. When I was single, I could "figure it out" but it would take me two weekends of five home depot trips to extend a circuit, replace a bathroom fan, returning shite I didn't need, buying tools I wouldn't use for another five years.

And then I got married. It needed to be done TODAY. And frick drywall and painting. I can never patch drywall as fast or as good as someone that doesn't speak English. And if there's something wrong with the texture, by outsourcing, I didn't get yelled at, the drywall people did. Paying a bit to have your wife pissed at someone else other than you, when they have to explain how they can't exactly match the texture, etc., is worth the peace of mind.

I can spend an entire weekend trying to figure something out, (cause you tube videos always show complications like electrical outlet placement, pipes that are too short, things that were misrouted, etc.) or I can pay someone $200 to do it once, with things they have on hand, and never have to think about it again.

I will agree with you, I do shite myself but my fridge is under warranty and this hobble leg arse redneck wants to tell me about his day and how rough it was. All while smelling up my kitchen with cigarette smell (he doesn't smoke in my house he just wreaks of it).

This arse will even let himself in the house. If he sees me through the screen door he just opens it and comes in. He's also on his 4th visit to fix my fridge so he clearly knows what he is doing.

I have no other option for warranty repair in my area.

Dumbass mentality. I’m sure I’m going to get crucified because the OT is 99% redneck baws that share your mindset, but you save a shite ton of money in the long term by hiring people who are excellent at what they do and are honest about it

Buddy I have saved a shite ton of money because of that mindset. If you walk away from every home repaid job that scares you, you'll never learn anything. The money saved from DIY far outweighs the time and materials costs from a few mistakes.

Well don't be close to them dumbass. Leave them alone to work

This is what I do as well. They are typically charging you by the hour…they can talk on their own time!
