Does he like to cook? A nice kitchen gadget to get his collection started would be great. An enamel Dutch oven or skillet. Doesn’t need to be a whole set or anything, but something versatile that he can use to build on in the future.

My uncle gave me a badass knife for graduation. Was a great gift

Did the same for my nephews. Guy named Stephen Hunter outside of Birmingham makes good knives. He has a Facebook page if you want to google.

Leather messenger bag (modern day briefcase). I got one back during the summer from Office Depot made by Samsonite that has room for my laptop and is my favorite bag I have ever owned. Normally $150, on sale now for $100.

Nothing. The OT says you shouldn't go to college. "Gift" is just another word for handout.

Leatherman supertool 300

He probably won't appreciate it initially,
so tell him to hide it until he's an old crusty man and he'll keep it on him all the time.

Assuming you want and a tangible gift?

Apple user? Maybe an Apple pen if he has an iPad and like $50 cash

Otherwise, a nice laptop bag for his first job or a coffee maker. I live for my ember coffee mug as well
