Some of this hazing sounds not worth it . I guess the bright side the worse the hazing the prettier the sorority ?

Agreed I’ve never understood it. These kids are paying for friends and then have to be treated like shite first too? Is the money not enough? What sort of tight bond does beating them or forcing them to drink way too much create?

God people are so stupid. The first thing we did when we hazed pledges was made them turn in their cell phones and stashed them away. We also didn’t do anything that could they could use as evidence of hazing.

Why did y’all haze in the first place?

It builds sneakiness and a penchant for breaking the rules. You are told not to haze in any way, shape or form. You are told what the consequences will be if you haze. History has shown you that you will be ratted out if you haze.
Yet, you haze, then act surprised, and cry, when LSU kicks you in the balls for it. Are you unable to understand what "Zero tolerance Policy for Hazing" means?
Don't stick your leg in a wood chipper. Now, are you going to have to go find a wood chipper?

Back at ya dude. You're exactly right and I agree 100%.

First off, nobody knows what exactly happened. The pledges could've been picking up trash, sweeping, mopping, ya know nothing that actually would be considered hazing in the real world and would be considered character building (taking pride in something you're involved with) and LSU could've popped them for "hazing." That's BS.

Why sign up to rush a frat knowing everything that goes with it? You are going to drink A LOT and be borderline tortured. If that's what you want to do in order to join a boys club then fine but don't whine to the university when you can't make their cut.

Hazing does have its positives. Going through and surviving a traumatic experience together with friends brings you closer. Like two a days in football. Or basic training. We still talk about what we went through as pledges back in the day, and a lot of the "hazing" was funny as hell in retrospect. I don't think members of non-hazing frats are nearly as close as many of us were... Just one man's perspective.

???? Where has making somebody pick up trash and sweep ever resulted in a charge of aggravated battery?

I'm in this camp. I didn't join a frat because it's not my thing, but why would you join one knowing what goes on?

What's the story with the girl killing herself? Was she involved in the hazing? That seems off.

There was an entire new thread on it. Why bump this one?

Well jb, maybe I didn't see that one and when I searched this one popped up.
