The Columbo episode "The Bye-Bye Sky High I.Q. Murder Case" concerns murder at a Mensa-like organization.

The murderer is played by Theodore Bikel, IRL Mensa member.

The victim, a fellow society member, is played by Sorell Booke (yes, Boss Hogg)

IIRC I read that Booke was an IRL Mensa member, but I can't confirm that online. Per Wiki he graduated Columbia at 19 and spoke 12 languages, so there's that.

Yep. Knocked it out of the park in my 7th grade year, then proceeded to prove that an IQ score doesn't reflect common sense for a kid trying to make it through high school.

I ran the gauntlet and am still alive, by the grace of God. Might be the smartest dumbass you've ever met.

I have taken standardized tests that correlate IQ well into the gifted categories. My daughter was determined at a young age to be "profoundly gifted", with an estimated IQ expected to be found in only 1 in 20 million plus individuals. When she was 8 years old she insisted on having the "birds and the bees" talk, in which she explained human biological reproduction to me.

Life with a precocious kid was very interesting, sometimes surreal, and in some respects challenging. She could conceptualize abstract ideas like an adult, but lacked the social experience and emotional perspective of an adult. Some day I may share some funny anecdotes.

Weschler in 8th grade. 141.

Got a 33 on the ACT as a sophomore, but this was back in the 90’s before they nerfed it.

Reading on a 12th grade level in 2nd grade, in the fourth grade we had to read 3 books on a summer reading list containing 10 books. I read them all in a week. The teacher didnt believe me so I took all 10 tests and made a 100% on all 10.

seems low
did they change it?

Technically is top 2%, depending on the test since the grading varies between recognized tests.

130 on some, 140 on others.

Which test?

not sure which i took in middle school and HS as that was 25+ years ago but I know i scored above 130 each time.

I took the Stanford-Binet my senior year of college and scored 136.

im prolly lower now to be honest, even doing engineering work, I feel like you loose a lot of the processing speed and memory ability.

Maybe i am wrong and it is still as high.

i do find it funny though....got a bunch of 130+ claims in here from people who bragged about a 3.0 in high school and a mass comm degree

something is off

137 when I was 10. Dad noticed I had a pretty good memory and wanted to see what it was. I haven't ever gotten tested since then. Hoping I haven't lost any bhp.

Yeah I'm not nearly as smart as I was in high school/undergrad.

The post-30 decline is real

Nah, you’re probably right.

IQs do fluctuate though.

To your other point, it’s the OT, of course every plant operator has an IQ of 130+. Duh.
