There are hundreds of teams at UCA nationals this weekend but over 12 different brackets (maybe 24)
It’s kind of like how Louisiana has 8 football state champs each year..

Even after attending more competitions than I care to remember, I still have no idea what constitutes doing good or bad. Just smile and clap.
Step 1 is to not drop any stunts
The problem is some judges care more about “clean” and others more about difficulty… and from competition to competition you never know what the judges want.
You want a clean difficult routine

Disney/Universal owns all the cheer completions.
Nah, they are owned by Varsity… which is far bigger of a racket than any of the travel ball companies

The volleyball moms that hang out in Houston are typically pretty MILF-y
One of my kids got into the volleyball thing for three years. No big deal for the indoor stuff, but damn the beach tournaments were so awesome.
The parents all just want to prop up the kids and help them to be better.

Yes these fake cheer competitions are extremely en vouge around here where I live. Upper middle class white women with nothing better to do.
And yes every team "wins" some sort of fake championship and the parents pay lots of money for big super bowl style rings and shite.
The entire thing is just a business/hobby masquerading as some sort of legitimate competitive endeavor.

See you on the money board in a few years asking about how to supplement your way too small college savings.
When they're pre-teens is a good time to start teaching them about tradeoffs. That will help them be an adult.

1200 a month plus competition fees’s, travel, hotel, costumes. Figure I’m paying about $2,000 a month.
Now ask how many parents are putting that much into a college 529 or utma savings account...
It's the female version of travel baeball, but with the full spectrum of Karen's and families who don't know how to say no to stupid overpriced things.

28k a year into dance, and I have yet to receive a single dollar from the ex for the 529s. My entire child support payment apparently only pays for extracurriculars (10k for lacrosse). And that doesn't include travel. But, priorities.

Dad drops off wife and daughter. Goes and drinks at local pub. Goes back to watch his daughter perform. Go to dinner afterwards. Have a couple more beers. Give keys to wife and sleep on ride home.

I do appreciate the gay dads though, they are all in like it's the NFL combine. It's not healthy for the kids to become responsible adults, but the gay dads are way more focused than the dance moms.
