Definitely a thing with the brits and Aussies.

People would talk about eating pies before the soccer matches and I was like why the frick do you eat apple or pecan pie before a football match. Not realizing they were eating meat pies.

North Louisiana cuisine is typically what you would find all across the south.

Cajun = Well cooked and seasoned.

Creole = Cajun + tomatoes.

Grey Areas = Better than most of the US with squirrel occasionally included.

Outside of the NOLA area I find that many folks fail to make their creamy dishes absent of a basic bechamel foundation. For example cream of spinach has a cream cheese base rather than a bechamel base. Just something that I notice.

One starts cooking by opening a can of beer

One starts by opening a can of cream of mushroom soup

You know what we have?

The best deer, duck and turkey hunting in the state, along with the biggest bass

I’ll stick with my wife’s fried chicken, mashed potatoes and gravy, black eyed peas and cat head biscuits over nutria rat.

What cuisine and culinary practices is Arkansas known for? It’s the same in North Louisiana.

Not regional but it’s who knows how to cook them properly and who doesn’t.
