This is a big thing. Early career folks, at least in the fields I work in, benefit so much more if they're able to walk an office or two down and pick the brain of a more seasoned veteran.
They're MUCH less likely to just up and video or phone call that same person if sitting at home.
Agreed. Getting new hires up to speed at my last job was just not the same when we were remote. Hell, I have 25 years of experience in my field, and it wouldn't have been the same for me the past year or two if I wasn't in the office.

Desk next to a transitioning tranny and this was when Trump took office and started cancelling funds for trannies. Plus the political lectures from the black director who’s life goal was to go work for USAID. Friggen commies.
You work at a weird fricking place.

I’ve done both and I prefer to work in an office. I really like the clear separation of work and home.

WFO often has less people than WFH because so many WFH.

like my hybrid schedule where I’m 3 days WFH and 2 in the office. Best of both worlds.
I’ve worked remotely since 2011, with 1 year in office in 2016.
I would be okay with a hybrid schedule, but that does take away a key perk from remote working, which is the ability to live wherever you want.
Currently, I visit clients occasionally when I have projects going on, and we get together as a team quarterly. I enjoy that dynamic.

Coffee is free in the office

I just go bang hot coworker broads on my lunch break, then my lady boss after everyone else leaves.

One of the more satisfying things in life is seeing people fired for not coming back to the office.

How you survive the kitchen at McDonalds?

My home office is more peaceful and more productive than any “in-person” office I ever had. I don’t have constant interruptions from bar-fly employees that just want to chit-chat about shite I don’t care about. And, I don’t like them.
I also have complete separation from my personal space. My office is literally outside of my main living space.

I like the social interaction and the routine of going into the office.

Coming back? I’ve never had to work in an office with my current employer. I’m expected to work remote. My employer is overseas. Jokes on you. Satisfying. Enjoy your commute.

The only thing I dislike about my office is the commute. I love the folks I work with and it's a fun environment.

Actually, it applies directly to me and you don’t like it. This thread is about working from home. You think everyone working from home worked in an office prior to COVID or something. That’s not the case. There are tons of wfh jobs that have never required someone to work at an office. Your low IQ position requires you to go into an office because they don’t trust you to do your job without supervision. And, you’re still commuting. You’re still having to “get ready for work” for your in-person position which means you have to get up earlier.

My coworkers are all pretty cool. We have no drama because it's just a bunch of dudes so it's laid back. I'd prefer to not have to come in every single day, but I don't have a choice. The money is good so I just suck it up and show up

3-2 Hybrid here and I don't mind.
