Not one red cent. I think our mailman delivers to us only once a week. Days of nothing and then one day when the mail box is overflowing

It is not legal to give cash to postal workers. federal rules prohibit them from accepting cash or cash equivalents (like gift cards for cash), though they can accept non-cash gifts worth up to $20 per occasion, with a $50 annual limit from any single customer. Thoughtful options include homemade treats, snacks (like coffee or donuts), a handwritten card, or a small, non-reloadable gift card (e.g., for a local coffee shop)

We have a pretty high turnover of mail carriers but we had the same one for 3 or 4 years and I would give him $20. That guy moved on and I haven't seen our new carrier.

Well, then you’re into the lawn boy, the maid, valet, butler, cook, and maid territory. When does the madness end??

When I was a kid our mailman was the same guy and my parents bought him a gift every year. Today, my mail whoever is some random young black dude or chic with headphones on who could give a frick less about the mail much less speak to you in any friendly way. So the answer to your question is absolutely $0!

Nada, zip, zilch, zero but when I had a garbage man that threw the trash can onto the back of the truck, I used to tape a $5 bill to the handle.

Now there's a person inside an airconditioned truck cab operating a big mechanical arm

It's been a while.

Our UPS, FedEx and USPS delivery guys are the same all year. I have quite a few old trains shipped in and out and they always handle them with great care. I always make sure they get a little Christmas cash gift.

Also, when the office is closed but they see me driving around town, they stop me and give me my mail or package.

I stop her and ask her not to leave my mail sticking out of the mailbox where it can get rained on. Then I say, “now get off my lawn”!
