seriously though I take my boat out into the swamp and just observe...it replinishes my soul...
Being in nature replenishes the soul. The droning motor to bookend the silence of nature doesn’t hurt.

At this point in my life nothing gives me more joy than taking a walk/ bike/
Golf cart ride with my 6 and 1/2 year old son
Right before sunset the world slows down for just a little while.
We talk about life and 1st grade .
This world moves to fast most of the time now days

I make multiple drives up the Poudre Canyon weekly. Just to listen to the river, think, and appreciate nature's beauty

As often as I can. Usually in the morning I drink coffee on my patio while the dog runs around. After work, repeat. And other times. It’s a great way to unplug and de-stress.

People watching is therapeutic. Sat on bench on Pearl Street in Boulder this summer and it was awesome.

Swing on my front porch. Usually right before dark or until the mosquitoes get too bad

Love to do that at the airport.

During a break on our hike the other day, my five yo stopped playing with his brother and just sat here for a good half hour looking at the stream and woods. I think it’s the longest he’d ever sat still. I sat and watched in awe.

If I’m on a business trip for more than 1 night, I’m the guy sitting alone at the bar without my phone trying to make eye contact with you for a little conversation. What can I say, I get lonely. And talking to strangers is good for you.

You sure it’s only conversation you’re looking for?

Wife and I canoe a lot. Nothing better than drinking a beer at the end of the day and just floating down the river.

Every time I’m at my camp at TB. I sit in my zero gravity lounger on my main lake dock and watch the eagles soar and fisherman scramble as I thank the lord for these moments. Upcoming retirement. Will greatly increase those days.

I love to people watch. My husband and kids dont get that I can sit on a bench and just watch people go by for long periods of time. Like you, I wonder about their stories, motivations, thoughts.
I will also sit on the porch at my camp and look at what appears to be nothing for a morning or an afternoon when I can. So much actually to see though.
I got to do both today and will again tomorrow…so its a good week!

I will leave my phone behind
Reading this made me reach and check my phone. I fricking suck.
I am making progress though. I still take it fishing but now silence it and throw it in a storage hatch. Sad to admit, its hard not to reach for it at times, even in a 3-4 hour trip.

sit on my back porch, just a 20 acre field and woods and the sky

I’m up at about 4:00 AM every morning and I’m also retired. I walk around outside and look up at the stars and wonder at it all. I also go out to the barn and just watch the livestock (and some mice) milling around. I NEED my alone time. Ii have a huge appreciation for the outdoors and just feeling well and healthy .

I sit and watch my chickens and goats and guard donkeys.

I once heard an older man say something about people who do not look up at the sky enough.
After that, I noticed that I did not look up at the sky, so I try to take a few moments each day to just look up and observe.
