My parents owned a gas station. I was around 14. After that I started at a radio station around 16. I've worked all of my life and would feel odd not working even if I didn't have to.

16. I worked for a local men's clothing store because they were the only store in town (at the time) that sold Lacoste and I wanted a discount...hated that job
ETA: That was first real paycheck. If you count doing yardwork / working with family during summers, I was around 10.

Cutting grass at age 12 around the neighborhood.
At age 15.7 (almost 16) lied about my age and went to work for a division of Halter Marine.
I weren’t skeered.
Worked there summers and over Christmas breaks through High School.

Had a paper route when I was 12. Quit that and started a lawn care service at 13. By 19 I had hired 2 of my buddies and we moved 93 lawns a week.
First official paycheck was when I was 16 and worked at Commonwealth Theatres as a projectionists. Fun job!!!

First real job I had was at 15 making $2.50 an hour with some of my buddies. We hung a lot of the light fixtures on the unfinished upper floors of the American Bank building on weekends. Still don't know why they let a bunch of inexperienced kids do that, but we had a blast running all over the building, sneaking into Executive offices.
