Have to hope 91L/Gordon continues to speed up regardless of where it’s projected to land. Gulf is way warm this time of year and if it slows down at all it’s only getting stronger

The 00z Euro EPS members are in pretty good agreement on a track towards Louisiana and then things get messy.

Anniversary of the 1935 Labor Day Hurricane.

To learn from this: storms can intensify very quickly. Never take even a TS lightly.

Morning visible, system seems to be organizing and that is confirmed by CIMSS vorticity analysis showing a decent stacking of the vort maxes at 850, 700 and 500 mb.

It is common to see the 700mb and 500mb offset in high shear environments and a sign of organization is those levels "stacking" up with the 850mb.

850mb

700mb

500mb

High shear is lurking just west of the system as an upper level trough is breaking down into individual upper lows. The motion of those ULLs will determine if the system gets sheared out or finds a low shear spot where it can strengthen.

As the trough in the red circle breaks down and drifts westward an upper level anticyclone develops (H in image below).

Just got back from Walmart. Got supplies for milk sandwiches and all the 9 volt batteries they had left.
