That’s not really accurate. The Quran is written to be a companion to the existing Bible. It heavily references existing passages as existing passages. The entire premise of the Quran is that God is annoyed that humans managed to frick up his revelation again, so now he’s going to lay out word for word rules, and a lot of that is “clarifying” Bible passages.
This is almost exactly what I said. I said it plainly, you tried to romanticize it.

Let’s not forget that the Syrian, Palestinian, Egyptian, etc. regions were all Christian before the Muslims invaded. The Crusades were a response to take the Holy Land back.

The Crusades certainly didn't help.
Surely you were taught that in schoo. . .
. . .You know what? of course you weren't
Why would I assume proper education?

The thing that began 1000 years ago and ended 700 years ago? That happened as a direct result of Muslims invading and conquering Christian territories? That thing?
I know we joke about Muslims being stuck in the stone age but if something that happened a millennia ago as a result of your own kind fricking around and finding out is your excuse for your actions in 2026 then maybe many Muslims aren't emotionally or intellectually mature enough to interact with modern civilization.
shite the Mongols seized, looted, burned, and put the city of Baghdad to the sword around the time that the crusades were winding down but Muslims aren't frothing at the mouth to commit jihad in Mongolia.

It’s fascinating how religious traditions grow in dialogue with their historical context. By the time Christianity emerges, Judaism had already evolved through Persian and Hellenistic influence. The idea that any tradition is culturally isolated doesn’t really match history.

At least they are up front about it, unlike another region that wants to destroy us, yet we do their bidding.

Well the Quran was written by Satan so the whole goal of it is to paint the picture of a false Jesus
They can think as highly of Him as they want but if they don’t think he’s the eternal Son of God who died for their sins and rose again then it’s worthless

No, no, and no. If someone writes an annotated companion to Hamlet, no one would say that they “mostly copied Hamlet”. Your wording is misleading to anyone who isn’t familiar with the texts.

Is this what fox news told you to think?

Josh answered from Muslims’ own POV, which is valuable when the thread is about an unexpected realization of how Muslims viewed Jesus
Your “plain-spoken version” is just heavily editorialized from the Christian POV and not really helpful to the topic

If a loser kid took a smart kid's homework, changed a few things then added a bunch of pedofilic nonsense, we'd call it what it is.
And we would probably put the loser kid on a watch list.
But since it's dubbed a religion, we have to dance around the truth. Because tolerance.

They believe in his existence but they don’t worship him.

It’s now been many years since I read the Quran, but isn’t all the pedo stuff in later hadiths, not in the Quran itself?

Key Aspects of Jesus in Islamic End Times:
It's really fascinating if you compare their escatalogical views.
Muslims believe the Al-Dajjal will be defeated by the Madhi and Jesus. Their Jesus will return and abolish Christianity. Pray behind the Madhi, etc.
Christians have an inverse view. We believe The Anti-Christ and his False Prophet will come to the scene to establish new order and abolish Christianity. They will mount war against Christ and will be defeated.
What Muslims call Jesus will be the False Prophet. Their Madhi is the Anti-Christ. Their "devil" is the one true Jesus Christ. It's quite striking.

Like I said, copy the word of God, change things you don't like, then receive additional word from God that aligns with your desires.
There is a hadith that agrees with everything I said, ostensibly from Muhammad's baby bride.

Again, I’m not defending anything regarding Muslims, just stating I was unaware of their beliefs or teachings on Jesus and Mary.
