Alzheimers is a brain disease. It can be diagnosed through medical tests. Not being sure if you are male or female cannot be diagnosed that way. It is psychological not physiological.

Yet mankind has been correctly "diagnosing" the sex of newborns since the dawn of mankind. It's only in the last 20 minutes that humanity completely lost its collective ability to for reason and truth.

Well, we used to. Then we quit funding mental health and in attempt to destigmatize we called it normal. Then the nail in the coffin was when homosexuality was almost universally accepted in society and was no longer the lighting rod that the left used to polarize our society they became the new face of gay rights. Now you get people like this pos that shot up a church. He’s obviously insane, but you can’t question it because tranny. All the rest of the crazy goes untreated because……tranny. He just needs hugs and understanding and to not be stigmatized and bullied because……,,tranny. So in an effort to appease .002% of the population and in the unlikely scenario that hugs and affirmation will suddenly cure gender dysmorphia and schizophrenia, we have not only failed to decreased the suicide rate in the horribly troubled population, but we now have multiple trannys shooting up schools.
Clearly this is a gun problem.

The reason some people on the left get so worked up about it is because 50 years ago, homosexuality was listed in the DSM. To them, this is the same thing. While to anyone with any degree of critical reasoning ability, it’s clearly not. Gay people‘s problems are generated solely by society. If people will just leave them the hell alone and let them do what they want, there is no issue with being gay. The same can’t be said for being transgender. Even if society were 100% on board and willing to call anyone by any gender desired, it doesn’t change the fact they still feel trapped in the wrong body. If that isn’t a mental disorder, I don’t know what is.

Honestly we need to bring back sanitariums. You want to be transgender, with all the surgeries and hormone bells and whistles, then you go to the asylum and you can do anything you want. Cut whatever off. Put on makeup. Draw pictures. Just stay in there, locked up. Away from a functioning society.
All the druggies on the corners begging? Throw them in there too. Repeat offenders? Asylum.

We used to call it a mental disease. It absolutely is a mental disease despite the APA refusal to call it such. The reason it is no longer labeled a mental disorder is to avoind hurting the feelings of those suffering from the disorder.

I.agree, but we can accomplish this without being cruel. A return to the asylums of the mid 20th century is not what Im suggesting. The current standard of care at .most state run facilities isnt great but even if we had just more of those it would help.

The answer is that is that it used to be classified as a disease. In 2018 The WHO removed gender dysphoria from its International Classification of Diseases. Go figure...

I think of transgenderism as an extreme case of body dysmorphia, akin to anorexia and bulemia or all these people getting these extreme plastic surgery makeovers.
