I was just there and was never asked to show a vaccine card or wear a mask. Louisiana is and has been way more restricted than both places.

I was there 2 weekends ago and was asked to wear a mask everywhere we went in Boulder. People were riding their bikes with masks on. It was absurd.

Where do you live?

Lafayette, LA. I don't understand how this has anything to do with Denver being a shithole.

I can understand someone not liking Denver due to certain social / political reasons but it’s definitely not a shithole

Denver is the prototypical city in America which is why it's a shithole. It can't be avoided.
Democrat-run.
High crime rate.
Homeless everywhere.
High taxes.
Also very stale people.

Sure, the outskirts are nice - but in the mountains you're going to pay an assload of cash to live up there. Go out to the plains in the eastern half of the state and report back on how everything smells like cow shite.
Denver is a shithole, just like New Orleans. Rampant crime, clueless snobby white people, unchecked immigration from Mexico and California, trash everywhere, terrible traffic.

Again, get out of the insanely expensive burbs and report back.

Denver is pretty meh to me and very expensive but some of the surrounding areas are pretty awesome.

While I agree, it's better than anywhere in Louisiana. Even though I prefer New Orleans to Denver, I can admit that Denver is a "better" city.

But, then again, I almost always head to more rural areas with wilderness, mountains, great streams for kayaking, fishing, etc. and just blow through the more urban areas on my way to them. I actually spent most of my time on state highways and avoid the interstate so I can see more of small town U.S.A. on my trips.

Scenery and access to nature is very healing. ITs hard to return to the city after a successful visit to nature.

My buddy who is pretty far left, (a Bernie Bro) moved from New Orleans to Denver and seems much happier there.

Yeah, Colorado is God's country. I have wanted to move out there for quite a while, but family keeps me here. Still might though.

Montana is God's Country, one day I'll convince my wife to move out there

Colorado could take an asteroid directly into its a-hole and still be better than NOLA.

To me there are other places you can live with mountains and seasons where you don't have to spend 700k on a house.

Hated Boulder. It's overrun with Californians now and the people were rude and leftists.

Denver was pretty cool, but the homeless were everywhere.

I really enjoyed Utah much better. Much more conservative and not as many homeless in SLC. Wyoming was even better than that.

It's the worst fricking cycle. But someone has to break it, or our entire lineage will be stuck in this shithole that is Louisiana.

i'm starting to think this is why we have a shite on Louisiana thread (or three) everyday.

people are bitter/jaded that they can't move out. must suck to not have agency over your own life.

I used to kind of be in this boat but not anymore. My grandparents are all dead, my family is all scattered around now anyway and my wife isn't from Louisiana. Really the only thing that's kind of keeping us here right now is the youngest kid still being in high school.

The funny thing is, I don't even really like Denver, it's just much better than anywhere here in Louisiana

I much prefer a place like Missoula, MT over Denver. It's much smaller, but still has the amenities of a city, while still having the positives of Denver.

At one time Colorado was a conservative state. Land use to be reasonable pricewise. Then folks from Cali moved in and phucked it up. Came close to moving there but the cost of living just was opposed to my tightwad lifestyle. Even New Mexico has gone of the rails. A decent house in Santa Fe will set you back at $750,000.

When me and my wife flew from NOLA to Denver I felt like we were the only non drug dealers on the plane. The guy sitting next to me said he flies to Denver once a week, buy MJ, and then mails it back. I asked, "Wouldn't it be cheaper to just get a contact in Denver to mail it to you?" He said he had never thought of that

Louisiana whites and Colorado whites have about the same 12% spread in obesity as Louisiana blacks and Colorado blacks do.

So blacks tend to be more obese, but Louisianans do too.
When I lived in the Pacific Northwest a decade ago, it was extremely rare to see an obese white person under the age of 50. I almost forgot they existed until I moved back to Louisiana.

never understood that way of thinking, I bolted from La after college and with a brief exception haven't lived there since, I saw my parents probably more than a lot of people I know that never left, you've got to have the balls to make your own way and make the time and effort to get back to see your family, and they can travel too, btw
