No doubt. If I had about $10 million behind me, I would live in Manhattan Beach.

I mean say what you want about New Orleans but there at least some redeeming qualities…food, music, etc. Los Angeles has fricking nothing.

Paradise Cove is in Malibu and your trailer doesn’t have a driveway.

You can have an unlimited amount of fun hanging out in LA with nothing in particular planned.

Check out the names on the sidewalk near Capitol records, and the creepy Scientologist building right around the corner. You'll pass the original 20 pretty girls/3 Ugly Ones titty bar.

Don’t go there expecting to “see” fancy houses like you would see from the road in the garden district or St. Charles Ave. in NOLA. I remember most houses/estates were behind a solid wall/fence. I think most retail there currently is high end boutiques and luxury brands that probably pay too much in rent so they can have a tagline on their shopping bags that say “Paris/London/New York/Beverly Hills”

It was in the early and mid 1980s. It was awesome.

If you start at Wilshire at Rodeo and take Rodeo, you can knock out Pretty Woman and shopping in one go. After that, BH is just ok unless you want to really focus on BH, in which case, it’s interesting.

Beverly Hills, Bel Air, Westwood, Santa Monica and Venice are next to each other and definitely worth seeing.

This. There are so many great coast towns (like Laguna Beach, Carmel, etc.) and scenic drives (like Big Sur, Joshua Tree, Yosimite, etc.).

Hollywood is horrible, it's honestly worse or on par with Canal St. Bunch of trashy souvenir shops, and undesirable people around. I was shocked by that.

that was our biggest takeaway too. We went do the Rodeo Drive, boutique window shopping, grabbing coffee, grabbed lunch, car spotted, etc. On our way out we ended up being in Hollywood and were so disgusted by the looks of the area we didn't even get out of the car. Like you said it makes Canal St look well maintained and its inhabitants high IQ .

I couldn't deal with the L.A. traffic. It's sucks on a grand scale 24/7.

If you're going to stare at nice stuff you can't have, go to a strip club.

If all you eat is red beans and rice, and all you listen to is jazz, then yes LA has nothing for you.

The pink sauce at Miceli's, the tacos at Pink Taco, and the pastrami reuben at Pink's Hot Dogs, all in Hollywood, are damn good and that's just eating on a theme.

More money has been made by Los Angeles bands than most of the southern states combined.
