They have already had to cut back on NOPD and limit the fire department. Certain fire stations are on a rotation of being closed at times due to lack of funding.
It's scary bad how this kind of stuff affects response times.

who will then HAPPILY pass it along to the hardworking middle class folks of LA. Well, those with jobs anyway. What a total disaster.

Good thing we're going to shutter the oil industry!

It would be very fitting for JP to find corporate sponsors for floats. Chic Fil A, PF Changs and Target floats will look swell rolling down Vets.

Why do people still live in that city? I used to like going down there every now and then especially when I was younger. There is no reason to even visit now, much less live there.

I hate latoya and everything that’s going on but this shite is dumb

That’s been the plan all along. There’s a reason Democrat controlled cities and states have had stricter lockdowns than Republican areas.

They would have received partial bailouts regardless, but now they are guaranteed full payment with a Democrat about to be in the White House.

All newly elected Presidents favor pet projects for states and regions that supported and helped elect them. Biden will gladly shell out billions to any state and city that voted for him and locked down for months.

Our only hope is that he starts pressuring places to open up once he’s sworn in. He’s going to inherit a disastrous economy. He’ll want to get it moving again soon, or it will linger throughout his term.

Nah...he's going to blame Trump for anything bad that happens or that he has to deal with for years to come, and the media is going to help with the con.

The city survives off out of towners coming to spend money at the shite places I will never understand the idiot NOLA locals that act so above the out of towners. They let the city function. You need them.

New Orleans impressive list of Fortune 500 companies will surely buoy the city in tough times.

And it will be marked

I gave a letter to the postman,
He put it his sack.
Bright in early next morning,
He brought my letter back.
She wrote upon it:
Return to sender, address unknown.
No such number, no such zone.
We had a quarrel, a lover's spat
I write I'm sorry but my letter keeps coming back.
So then I dropped it in the mailbox
And sent it special D.
Bright in early next morning
It came right back to me.
She wrote upon it:
Return to sender, address unknown.
No such number, no such zone.…

As long as hospitals are not overrun, it does not matter how much this thing spreads. Period.

There's a meme going around that basically says, it's ok to skip the Holidays this year if people don't die, because there will be plenty of holidays in future years.

These peopel simply are unable to be reasoned with.

Running two years in Metairie beats not running this year and no guarantee of next year.

I can see Endymion and Bacchus seriously considering making that jump. Those are 2 of the biggest parades and members invest a ton of money getting everything paid to have those parades run. I've got a friend that is a member of Bacchus and has been for decades. I'd venture to guess he spends upwards of $10K a year to ride and attend all the functions they have during the year.
