It’s the same thing. Lab grown. From earth. Same thing.
If you prefer the ‘from earth’ variety you’re superficial. Full stop. End of story. Sorry not sorry.
This percieved difference is just something put out by the DeBeers diamond cartel many yrs ago. There is no way to tell the difference so yrs ago they set up the requirement that all lab diamonds had to be laser etched with an identifying tag on a small non visible spot on the diamond.
They were scared shitless that the market was going to be flooded with inexpensive flawless diamonds and their mined diamonds were going to be worthless.

It’s a smart move to buy the lab grown. They are better than natural diamonds, which are gradually losing value as folks begin to realize this.
I’d advise talking with the girl about it. If the engagement is a surprise go ahead and give her the ring but tell her what it is and give her the choice - I can bring it back and give you a smaller natural one. I bet she chooses the lab one.

I disagree. Don’t even bring it up. If your fiance’ is worried about lab grown vs natural, she probably isn’t the woman you should marry.
That’s blunt, but true.

They're worried about it because to them, its fake vs real.

I wouldn't surprise a woman with it if that's what your asking.

I feel this is subjective. IMO there a certain draw and uniqueness to minor imperfections of something that was grown from the Earth instead of by a bunch of nerds in a lab. Similar to when a woman has lots of plastic surgery, versus the little the nuances that set women apart with their imperfections.

Go buy an expensive diamond ring and then go to the pawn shop and ask them what they'll give you for it.
Get the lab grown and don't look back. Jewelry is the biggest scam there is.

Debeers and Rolex can teach master class on marketing

Diamond marketing is the number one number one scam success story. If you feel the urge for something white, sparky and durable stick to moissanite, which is not grossly over marketed, lab grown silicon carbide primarily a by product of semiconductors. If you want something with actual rarity go natural ruby, sapphire or emerald or the lower price synthetics that have been around a long time. Unfortunately, very few jewelers know anything about colored stones making it smart to stick to admitted synthetics.

There is no way for a regular person to determine if a diamond is lab grown or natural.
When you buy your diamond, you have no way of knowing if it is natural or lab-grown, you rely on the seller's "word".
The "value" of the diamond is completely irrelevant, except for insurance purposes.
If it becomes necessary to sell the diamond ring, you would never recoup your purchase price, and if selling, the relationship failed anyway.

My point was both companies are master of marketing and create a fever of false rarity to drive up demand by controlling supply
