Good post. I honestly hate that this keeps happening and reflects poorly on people who are trying to do the right thing and living the right way, as you seem to be.

ETA:

Kids are preferring to stay on campus longer, as evident with LSU running out of housing, and now off campus housing is now being forced to rent to anybody for the sake of occupancy.

This is actually a positive I hadn't considered of Bama not having enough housing for anyone past Freshman year.

You never see police walking around on campus on game day. Just having a presence would be a start. Also how hard would it have been to have police shut down the event on Highland that was getting out of hand. They better get a handle on it or your big money donors will quit attending.

In a one week span during my time at LSU living in a north gate off campus condo I had my car broken into twice and got held up at gunpoint by one of these so called YNs. This was almost fifteen years ago. I share your general pessimism that it won’t get better.

Why do you think good black people have to do something about a subculture we don't associate with? Just because you categorize black culture singularly doesn't mean it is. Stop lumping us in with all the other bullshite. We don't know, relate, or gaf about that group of individuals just as you don't about the degenerates in your culture.

You say that, but we've seen numerous examples of how it works when something is done about it. One doesn't need to look too far beyond OJ, George Floyd and Alton Sterling to see the excuses start flowing and the attacks on white folks who call out that sort of behavior by people who claim to not gaf about that culture.

I was shocked by some of the black folks I know who sound just like you in your post but after George Floyd and Alton Sterling all they were able to talk about was how black males are being hunted down by police doing the bidding of white folks etc.

The biggest difference is some black guy decides to fight the police and gets his arse beat or winds up getting killed and 99% of black folks are outraged and ranting about systemic racism. Some dumbass redneck decides to fight the police and gets his arse beat or winds up dead and 99% of white folks will opine that the dumbass redneck got what he had coming to him,

What I say is true, you know it, I know it, everyone here knows it.

When the trash claims they are victims of racist cops 90% of blacks seem to jump on board and say that could have been them. When a white person says the exact same thing about black trash as blacks do it becomes racist. When white person criticizes a black or blacks it becomes viewed as being racist by the good black people

See us as individuals when black thugs act out or until the group victimhood can be played to get more special treatment and other forms of “reparations”…

Exactly. The only blacks who don’t play that game are usually labeled as uncle toms by other blacks and also vote Republican.

What can we do to fix the situation?

LSU and state/local government could do something but they don’t seem interested. Instead we get woke admissions.

The lack of a true police presence is the issue. Then the ones they do have are too nice and lenient on everyone.

Simply paying for extra police whether it’s state, parish or city would make a difference. Bring in police from out of town. Just have them around. It’ll change it all I promise you.

The shootings at all these places and the degradation of culture is just uncontrollable YNs...and black folks know it bc we came up with the term and definition ourselves. It isn't students nor is it families or paying adults who all seek to contribute to the reason why we are all there. There are some exceptions. The LSU-SU game was just a logistics clusterfrick and though there was an insanely amount of weed smoke that day, it sure wasn't as bad as last night. The following year Grambling game was no issues, whereas their fan base is much older, conservative and rural.

Sounds like a problem where y'all will have to find a solution

The term " the black community " is liberally used , especially by blacks when it serves their purpose. You never hear about the white community. There are things that go on in that community which don't happen any place else . Its not always criminal actions but it often leads to criminal actions. Just take a ride down Florida Blvd between the interstate and Acadian Thruway and observe what is happening.

Media talking heads like Ryan Clark truly embraces the culture and would want you all to just let those YNs just be and don’t harass them, cops are bad and white people are racist.

Also this is another huge shocker, but the 4 Black city council members all oppose national guard coming into Baton Rouge.

This is the issue, caused by lack of morals and standards within their own community.

Please quit voting for the politicians that encourage this behavior as well as promoting leaders at LSU that want more of this to continue.

That's the issue, BR is pretty segregated so when it comes to voting for state legislature and/or metro council, the demographics are very clear for each area. I can vote for who represents me, but in other areas, the exact opposite is going to be voted for. Im not ready to call it just yet, but BR is as close to a lost cause as it gets.
