I'll be wrapping and pine strawing my dag gum fig trees. I'm not doing without figs for another 2 years because of some cold weather.

Naw, the deep freeze 2 years ago nearly killed by fig trees. actually killed one of three. The other two had to regrow from the very base. Not gonna happen again.

Both GFS and Euro have freezing rain with that system, just depends on how things shake out.

Thanks. Don't wish it upon anyone, but hoping it tracks further south. Last thing we need is ice and then turn around and get snow dumped on it less than a week later with extreme cold temps.

I (aka farther south) understand.

The end of 2024 was a b**ch. Helena knocked down a lot of trees (aka firewood), and just as my husband felt he was over that hump, the winds the past two days have been knocking limbs down and some smaller oaks (five inches of rain in December loosened the roots).

We might get the replacement carburetor for our generator tomorrow. If not, we'll be getting a new one before the next electric line fall happens.

We had extended deep freezes here in north AL the past two years, single digit lows with highs in the 20s for several days. My fig tree can handle a year of that here or there, but two in a row has just about done it in. It is a big tree, and struggled this year to sustain new growth. It has a lot of dead in it that I've got to trim out. Another one this Winter will likely finish it off. That is an old tree, too.

I’m working the next three weeks in South Bend Indiana right off Lake Michigan.
Pray for me buddy lol.

I started noticing yesterday that they weren't pulling it as far south. I haven't looked much at any of this evening's stuff.

And that gif doesn't show the possible freezing rain event for KS into the Midwest and KY on the 5th and 6th.
